Why do they say the drivers car was "seized"? We all know they do a safety check on vehicles involved in accidents like this. "The police will be doing a safety check", is all that's necessary.

"Police ID woman killed by car in Middle Island"
This car must be brought to justice! Punish this car to the full extent of the law!

I hope the driver goes to jail for a long time. I am fed up with these "accidents".

Please fill the rest of us in with what you know that makes the driver in this story deserving of the blame for the other woman's death.

Sonya...I believe it was said best with " Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." I happen to personally know those involved and the details of the investigation, and can assure you that the site investigation along with eye-witness testimony verified the woman walked into the road and the driver did try to avoid the pedestrian...but was unable to avoid her.

Critter, Thank you for sticking up for this woman. I take this extremely personal because the driver was my mother!! This is not a joke, my mother is completely devistated to say the least. She has been a mess mentally and have spent most of her time crying. This was a horrific accident that could not have been avoided. Our family feels for this woman and our hearts go out to her family. My mother plans on leaving flowers and decorating the scene of the accident. I cannnot even begin to express the anger that I feel reading these negative comments. My mother is an angel on earth and it could not have happened to a better person. Others would think differently if they were involved in an accident. I guess we must all be great drivers b/c we are casting so much judgment. I hope no one has to go through what my mother has...
