unfortunatly nobody cares about coram or middle island so dont hold your breath for anything to happen.the coram ua would be a perfect spot for anything but will never be more than a homeless campground and graffiti hot spot
That was very negative, thus far and I have been here just a year now, someone bought the old Pancake Cottage and that man put alot of money into making the new diner, Diamindi Diner. I felt so bad I went there one day and he had to close cause the pipes had burst. I try to support new business in the area so they can stay. You should go there and be supportive. I also went to the Coach Inn place across the street. They are also building all new residential units across the street there, they are set back. And someone bought one of the corner stores behind the Diamindi diner, its a lounge. Thats alot that I know of, for a short time, be supportive of the new additions in your community, invite some friends and go for a bite to eat.

What about the corner of Marconi & 25?
EYESORE??? It's just a damn building. Don't like it, don't look at it. Every time you hear that term, it's invariably from someone who's existence, ignorance and pettiness is a 'sore' on society.

Look "Damm" this is not a board of which was meant for childish name calling. Ignorance is where someone or something is uninformed, of which, as it may be construed, you choose to remain so. This is a forum for those interested in their community and enhancements. The Kmart building is an eyesore and Middle Islanders need and want business within their community as opposed to spending money in other communities. King Kullen is in the red, they should sell to Pathmark. It's not a choice, it's what will work for the community and a Pathmark will. With a Pathmark, then other stores can exist and throwing in like an Applebees which meets the needs of all ages.
You know most people who call names and are mean to others are really only transferrring their own true feelings about themselves, find another board, if you dont have anything worthwhile to post!

If you people want to complain to someone, you can contact Connie Kepert. Look her up and blast her with complaints and requests.

My wishlist: Restaurants we don't have anywhere in LI, like Red Robin, Cracker Barrel, Texas Steakhouse, Joe's Crab Shack.

I am curious to know what are anyones thoughts here as well as updated knowledge regarding any plans. Despite the eyesore, I look towards the King Kullen shopping center, sadly that store is in the red, why, because a good majority of people are driving out of the community because the prices are high. If only King Killen would sell to a pathmark that shopping center would flourish. The the town can focus a bit on the Kmart, break it up, a few nice stores, perhaps an Applebees might be one of a good choice. Could also add a little senior center, something for a non profit that offers services for the immediate community. It can be a nice set up but it starts with the King killen, Im sorry, just a random thought, rant, your thoughts?
Or a Best Yet, yes, has any of the officials realized there is no food supermarkets from King Killen on??? Thats why residents are forced to travel out of the area to shop, there is nothing. When the monies is taken out of the community, the community suffers, jobs flourish elsewhere, life flourishes elsewhere. But thats what your officials are there for, I called them, you should too.

I agree however with the new welfare hotel opening in Hampton Bays, his time should be on that situation.
As for the WalMart property, in this down economy I don't see any positive change for some time. It would also be nice to have some "sit down" places to eat (Applebees, Fridays, etc...) in the area.

Merry Christmas to all.......

The place is honeslty total crap, it would need to b knocked down b4 anything happend they wouldn't b able to use tht building , thts y no one is buying it , al metal has been stolen out of it , the government now owns the property , and its in a bad area every six months they go in and check for bodies thts not an ideal area to put a nice store

moved to md because of the country look. not against building ,but keep it rural as possible.every place there are trees, tne need to build is present. if not carful or better planning, could become lioke queens fast. these builders dont live here, so not concerned what it would become. their only concern is greed.
