Vacant Kmart Building

I am curious to know what are anyones thoughts here as well as updated knowledge regarding any plans. Despite the eyesore, I look towards the King Kullen shopping center, sadly that store is in the red, why, because a good majority of people are driving out of the community because the prices are high. If only King Killen would sell to a pathmark that shopping center would flourish. The the town can focus a bit on the Kmart, break it up, a few nice stores, perhaps an Applebees might be one of a good choice. Could also add a little senior center, something for a non profit that offers services for the immediate community. It can be a nice set up but it starts with the King killen, Im sorry, just a random thought, rant, your thoughts?

yes i know, stop and shop is in coram, but people like me who lives north east of coram would like to shop here in town, just think...there is no other shoppings after middle island witch means that people from ridge and calverton can shop in good clean and non spanish speaking food shopping, we also need stores like marshalls , home goods, the gap etc etc! i started to hate this crumpy town that i line in, PLEASE LETS TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT MIDDLE ISLAND, HELP!!!! also if really think this town is located on the north shore, right?

They do have town meetings that are televised, I watched one last night about a bldg. in Centereach and the residents of the community were involved. We have to become involved cause Brookhaven is aware. They said other towns take pics of these empty bldg and bring it back to there towns to more a less mock us and use it as an example that they dont want there town to look like ours, they actually said this.

....Super Wallmart in lieu of the eyesore....(KMART). Build the Applebee's out in front, good idea. It would also cause the closing of King Kullen.

What about the corner of Marconi & 25?

applebees`s will be ok...what about a steak house? will be a better restaurant , what about some nice stores as Home Goods...marshalls..the gap...a small but attractive shopping center will make middle island look SO MUCH better ! marconi and 25? that is another pit stop!! it will be nice a dunkin`donuts a tdbank 7/11.... AGAIN anything that it will make this town look better, i guess we pay enough real estate tax to have something other than this crap we have now!! US the community should do something !!

Then you contact the town and ask who you may speak to, you and a group of citizens have concerns regarding what we chatted about. Then post and we will take it from there. Also ask about when there is a meeting for Middle Island concerned citizens and the town as you and many others would like to attend, then post. We need to core info. then maybe we can get a nice group together and chat everyone must bring atleast one more middle islander to the group. Yes?

someone said that they heard a ups of fed ex was going to be put there...i think it would be a good idea as it would make a lot of jobs and help with taxes

I dint get any email back yet from the town ! I hope for the best for this town, Costco will be ok across from Wal Mart and I am sure that when they will start to put more houses lots of store will be thinking to come here, I would love to see a nice department store something to make this town look better something to see nice people shopping if you guys go the the town of brookhaven web site the are some pictures(from couple years go!) the way they wanted make Middle Island look like, I love it!! looks like a beautiful town or better almost like a village, why some of you who really wants some changes don't send them an email...if we get all together they maybe start to listen ...what to you think?? have a good day all

unfortunatly nobody cares about coram or middle island so dont hold your breath for anything to happen.the coram ua would be a perfect spot for anything but will never be more than a homeless campground and graffiti hot spot
