As much as Levy is king/tyrant, the reason his veto failed this time was because that none of the legislators who typically r willing to back him wanted 2 be seen as being against poor children. Its 2 easy of an attack piece 4 their next elections. All except 4 Beadenberner. His 2 biggest moves since getting elected so far have runs right down Levy Lane. Blast the immigrants and skip out on the County's bill to pay for poor kids daycare---this ain't your grandma's Democratic Party no more! But Levyites don't worry, your man can even find victory in this override. Take a look at the law.
It says the County doesn't have to pay the interest penalty if the reason for the slow up is deemed to be on the DAYCARE PROVIDERS SIDE.Howmuchuwanna bet that DSS will now strart reporting that all the delays r because of the VENDORS? This ain't over yet. Fischer and the rest of the legs will need to keep Stevie's feet2thefire and not let him get away with blaming the victims.

Why shouldn't these very important people who provide an invaluable service to our most important investment in the future be paid in a timely fashion? I wonder if Mr. Levy would be willing to wait 90 days to be paid? How about his staff? I think not.

The reasons large companies and bureaucratic entities shouldn't agree to a hard 30d is because if they miss it they are in default of an agreement. These organizations are so large that it just "naturally" takes a long time. usually a 60d period would be goood. What's the enforcement part of it? Is the county then penalized with late fees if they miss the 30d?

Should've sustained the veto.

oh, gee, now taxes might go up if you read todays paper... great, just what l want to do: spend 2.7 million taxpayer dollars to buy a POS flooded out building that will only be torn down to make a bigger parking lot for the homeless drunks that are there already. Leg. Kennedy wants to make a handicapped fishing pier... uhhh, there's one less than 200 yards away at the park. Way to go, idiot. Nice job he did with those trailers, though.. looks like Beruit now instead of Mastic Beach
