You sir, are really a moron. Do you really think there are are no parks for kids on the island? Do you live in a cave? By the way, thats a good thing, there should be parks for kids, I just can't imagine how you could say such a thing...
Thank you DISGUSTED, I agree with you. I pass so many " Kid parks" everyday and they are all empty. I got to smithtown every weekend and it is always packed with the same faithful people every weekend.

Dog parks are a great idea for Brookhaven and the fee is nothing. It just ensures that everyone does what they are suppose to do when you take on the responsability of brining dog into your family.

No.
The parks for children are in a sorry state. Athletic fields are few and far between-- not associated with schools. We all have backyards, and side walks, this is the suburbs. How about walking the dogs whilst walking yourselves. Rather than letting the dog off the leash while you eat an ice cream cone.
PS: Thank you for doing your part in our society by not spawning.
I see parks for kids all over the place. Again, I have no idea how you could think otherwise. And again I say that is a good thing. I do walk my dog, and don't eat ice cream at the dog park. I don't know who you think you are, or how you could venture to guess what kind of shape I am in (better than you, perhaps???) I'll bet you would complain about the dog being walked past your house as well. And if back yards are so great, play with your kids there, and stop bitching. We ALL pay taxes, and therefore we are ALL entitled to services from the town. People with children, pets, or neither have needs that should be met. Thats the bottom line. And as far as my "spawning" goes, you know nothing about me, how dare you say such a thing? If you want, lets meet in person to discuss it. Do you have the guts to back up what you anonymously type on the net?

One has nothing to do with the other. Given the choice of feeding the hungry or a dog park, who wouldn't pick the first? However, a dog park is a relatively inexpensive way to provide an oasis for dog lovers to exercise their loving companions, and socialize with each other (dogs and owners). If you are so concerned about the hungry and homeless, what have you done to help them??? Hopefully something other than talk! Don't compare apples and oranges...

Missing Out,

You are an ignorant ahole just like everyone else on this godforsaken sand bar. NOT everyone on this island has a lawn and I have seen pitty few sidewalks because you all are either too cheap or corrupt to build them or you're all too fat and car addicted to care. Also, just in case you haven't noticed, large parts of Brookhaven are NOT rural. Rural roads do not clog twice a day with 30 minute traffic jams.

Finally let me reiterate that dog parks are as much for their owners as they are for the dogs. Considering how dog un-friendly long island is in general I'm glad to see the town making some effort.

I am ashamed to live in Middle Island with a bunch of unintelligent assholes. For those of you who don't like the idea of the dog park must not own one yourselves. The whole idea of the park is to socialize your animal to avoid situations that you ignorant idiots seem to thing is destined to happen. The dog park was the BEST thing to happen to my family and dog. If you dont like it, then stay the hell away from it.

I am a middle Island resident, and have gone to the Dog Park, a couple of times. Very, Very dissapointing, first of all the park only has a couple of benches for people to sit, no water for dogs and very dirty, absolutely no grass for the dogs every thing is dirt, dirt, dirt. Other parks in states are beatifully maintained with grass.
This one is gross. And one person that thinks she owns the park, is nasty with people, and alot of people are turning away and dont want to be there.
