This Drug Rehab is great, the kids trying to bring Methadone in to jail was a Mastic resident, he would have benifited.

Too BadVincent Pucci still was not attending William Floyd he would have got a writen Doc script for Methadone.

This Drug rehab is long over due, this area had kids high early as the age of 12. Big problem in Mastic & Shirley with Heroin, Methadone, Oxy, Vicoden, Coke, Crank, Marjuna,- this kids are in the street all night long drinking alachol and getting high, then commit crimes!

A lot of drug problem start when we're young it did for me. I think it's brilliant. We teach our kids about DARE when they're in elementary school. Well this should be where they go when they do need the one on one and get personal attention. I think it can help turn the problems around. People should stop being against it and look at how it can change and save lives. If there's a need for it then why not help those who want the help now. Don't judge these kids don't have to grow up thinking that drugs is all they know. I'm 29 years old I wish someone would have taken the time to help me when i was 15 16 years old. Maybe I'd be somewhere more with my life now. I would go in and volunteer my time to help these kids.

yup that is why I paid to build new schools.. so we can make them drug rehab centers... yup that is why we need new facilities. So we can truck in the druggies from other districts.. and when the facilities get run down.. we can pay all over to refurbish them....

you want a drug rehab.. build it somewhere else and use your own dollars. Don't sell me on new schools so I can fund a drug rehab facility. Or do we now have another program that we can pick the taxpayer wallets for?

You are mistaken since the district does not allow students into the program from outside of the district. And the school is not paying for the services. Although I was also staunchly against this program, I have heard some testimonials from some of the students who participated, and have successfully cleaned themselves up.

This is not drug rehab. It is counseling, both individual and family therapy for the student and their family.

You need to get your facts straight before you talk out of your a**. First of all it is not a rehab center but instead a counseling center and no one is trucked in from any other district. This is solely for the use of our HS students and it has shown to be a great success. Secondly, this is not funded at all by taxpayer money but by Daytop who runs the center.
