Do you even know this guy, or at least know OF him? Just be quiet until anything else does come out. You are way out there.

Pay attention to the article. It was a man he hit-- not a woman. And where do you get your comparisons to a 17 year old drunk?
Oh, excuse me, the other car's driver had a d*ck.[rolling my eyes]

Anyway, I'll try to explain it to you in a way that you'll understand.

When a person is drunk, they may be disorientated, may not be able to see that great and may not be able to respond appropriately in a potentially dangerous situation involving a vehicle.

Sorta like what happens to people in old age.

He certainly does. It's called faith, and it sometimes it's the hardest language to learn.

Maybe he was praying he didn't crash his car on the way to and from church to pray.

If anyone has God email address please post it.

Who gives a crap if you are rolling your eyes?! Get over yourself, already. And the opinion about a 17 year old drunk driver versus an older driver is just that-- an opinion. And let me guess-- when you grow older, you will willingly give your keys up without an argument, right? Most likely you will continue on with the attitude that you are always right, and no one should question you.

Just A fact DWOs (driving while old) is one of the largest automotive death situations next to DWIs. Just more proff that people should be retest periodically after a certain age. He probably did have the reaction time to see the other car or turn the wheels. All too often i see old people who are senile with bad driving habits, not checking if the path is clear and mch like a drunk driving its mere luck that they survive this long

It's a shame what happened, but take the keys away from these old people.
How many accidents do they have to cause until we see it's a real problem?
I agree....once you hit 61 it's time to call a relative or a cab, preferably a relative.

The age of the guy behind the wheel is not relevant . It is the mind of the “nut” behind the wheel that matters.

Every day the news has stories of drag racers, drug addicts, boozers, and other “fine young citizens” Killing themselves and others.

ok some of the comments are very stupid on here but that is to no surprise I do know Gary the person that this old man hit and I feel terrible for him he has the rest of his life to live with this and he is a really nice guy .and as for the people who say where this guys kids take away his keys no one wants to be told what they can and can't do but at the same time I do think that every 5 yrs u should have to retake your road test young old everyone has accidents but this will help weed out who should and shouldn't be on the road...I was in an accident in Ronkonkoma with an old man who blew a stop sign and hit me head on with my kids in the car outside of some minor injuries what could have been a whole lot worse the worst part was this was his fourth accident in under 4 months and to make matters worse the man never even came over to see if we were ok.accidents happen but some can be prevented

Oh and if the geezer KNEW Jesus then Jesus would have said to him..why do you pray over stopid little wooden round balls on a string? Why do you go to a building to pray when I promised you in the bible that I would never leave or forsake you?
Why? Becasue this man didnt KNOW Jesus and didnt know anything about God. Bad people go to heaven over this guy all day long beacsue they ask Jesus for forgiveness of sin and have a RELATIONSHIP with the King of Kings.
Sad but more than likely this guy is burning. dont get burned repent from your sins that you may know true freedom.
And you call yourself a Christian, Shame on you! You remind me of the Pharisees who self-righteously condemned the behaviour of others while doing worse things themselves:
"And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye." (Matthew 7:3-5 KJV).

With those hateful remarks, you are far from ever knowing the True Christ.

Why do these old catholics obsessed with going to church everyday and praying all the time. Either the Catholic Church has them brainwashed or they have someking of deep rooted guilt.
Hopefully God will send me an email.
It is not called brainwashing, it is called worshipping and the reasons why we go to church frequently is because we enjoy mass and it is through the holy sacraments and ceremony that we are drawn closer to our Creator. But of course you will never know what being a Catholic is all about because you have closed your heart to the truth. I deeply pity those who we go throughout life never knowing the truth or ever get the chance to experience the graces of Holy Mass and the Holy Rosary.

Here is the saddest part of the story...with out the forgiveness of sins through salvation which can only be obtained thru the blood of Jesus Christ no one....no one enters heaven. So,,all teh praying over beads that mean nothing will get you nothing and trust me he knows that now. If he did not know Jesus as his Lord and Saviuor this man is in hell for all eternity. That is reality.
Reality is not going to mass every day becasue you are religous, religion has NOTHING to do with going to heaven. So, he may have been a religous man but if he didnt know Christ he is nashing his teeth in hell.
You need proof? Read the bible.
Am I mean? No, this is REALITY.
JOHN 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave his only son that who evers believes in Him shall not perish, that means that you do go to heaven beacsue you prayed over stupid liitle beads of nothing, that means that you dont go to heaven becasue you are a nice person, that means you dont go to heaven becasue you went to some building that is clothed in a thousand years of sin.
It's really sad how you twist the scriptures to try and impose your deluded beliefs onto others. Only a fool will listen to what you have to say, give it up!!!

Perhaps you should give thought as to what you will do if God allows you to live to be 88. Often, the elderly's family members don't spend any time with them unless they are trying to squeeze their life savings from them. Maybe your children will be there for you when your day comes, hopefully they will have a better attitude and more respect regarding the elderly than you do when you need them most.

another old geezer who shouldn't be driving gets into an auto accident, and this time, gets himself killed instead of running over a jogger, plowing through a bunch of kids playing in a parking lot or smashing into the back of a minivan loaded with little leagers bacause somehow the gas pedel got confused with the brake pedal.
You all can pray for this dead idiot, I pray for the person who had to be part of this accident, and for the horror she had to go through because this man took to driving when he clearly should'nt have.
Did he have any kids, and why in the hell are they not taking his cars keys away?
