I don't get why Newsday is ALWAYS criticized. This is basically ALL they have and they are putting it on the web site. It's like the Traffic Report from the Radio. Only it's on the Newsday web site.
What do people not get?????

The most dangerous road in New York, possibly America, strikes again.

Thanks LI Gal...I am right there with you. If you don't like the way they report on the website, go find another site to read. Maybe News12 can give them what they are looking for. Newsday puts up what they know and then updates as they get more information.(they can't report on what they don't have info on) Nothing wrong with that.

This poor girl was just an innocent passenger who got seriously hurt, the drunk driver that hit her and walked away unhurt should be locked up for the rest of his life, when will these people learn?

It's not the road that is dangerous its the morons that are driving on it. If anybody bothered to follow any traffic rules you'd wouldn't have these problems. Yellow light means slow down and stop speed limits are there for a reason turn signals aren't optional, etc.

Excellent points.. however... when it comes to 25... I would have to say that road is very dangerous... extreme dangerous. Ever drive that road at night with even the slightest rain falling? You simply cannot see the road due to the lack of lighting all over the place. Avoiding 25 at any cost is the thing to do in my opinion.

I don't think you're getting the point of the original poster. A good newspaper, upon hearing of a major story, would send a reporter to the scene and report back with whatever info he could find. You are correct in saying Newsday doesn't have info on a story, so can't report on it. But that's because they're sitting around in the newsroom, waiting for someone,(like cops or firemen, who hate Newsday) to call them and tell them what happened. As ridiculous as News12 is, they at least maintain a staff of reporters who actually go out on stories, as do many NYC media. IMO, Newsday has fallen to the level of the Post.

The roadway itself is not inherently dangerous...Just the drunks out there at 3:00 AM are the problem.
