C'mon Kepert - step up. Just scrap the "no toys" rule. Problem solved, and everyone can go back to behaving like adults again.

Sheeesh.

Next case.

You see, this is why we can't have nice things.(Smacks hand)
I don't have a part in this aside from just reading the story, but it sounds like this is turning into town peeing contest. In NYC dog runs/parks are the norm. I'd take thier rules and apply them out here. When people try to create something nice and all that comes out of it is petty barking, it really poo-poos any future ideas.

I can't take my dog to the park because of the requirement that you give town employees your social security number, driver's license number, and all other info essential for ID theft.

Besides the no toys rule, does this park allow snacks like bisquets or beggin strips?

The park attendant should be appointed to run the place--he seems to have a balanced assessment

These people are nuts! They have a nice dog park to take their dogs to meet other dogs and dogs owners. They are making themselves miserable. Rules are rules, obey them. If you don't like them, get involved in the process and work to change them. Spoiled brats and crybabies need to realize it is time to act like adults.

Another waste of taxpayers money. Before you own a dog you should have a backyard big enough for your animal to exercise. Then YOU clean up your dogs mess. It's your responsibility. Why should my money pay to clean up your dog s--t. The money would have been better spent on a park for PEOPLE, mainly children. Shame of the Brookhaven Town Board for approving this unnecessary expense, that is now turning into a fiasco, and a lawsuit,to boot.

Ohmigawd, this is SOOOOO WRONG ISLAND. Nuts wanting to be the "big fish" in a small pond are what's wrong. Will they ever GROW UP, communicate, get along? Or will they just be their SPOILED BRAT selves?

It is flatly illegal for a town official to demand anyone's social security number for this purpose.

It is illegal for anyone - town official or other - to demand anyone's SSN for this purpose.

You are on solid ground to simply decline such requests on the grounds it violates federal law.

If you dont like the rules dont go to the park.. Leave the toys home, it can cause a dog fight and who wants to deal with that, I know I dont

Don't you white trash out in Middle Island, where one only chooses to live because they can't afford to live in a real neighborhood, have anything better to do? Really, class action law suits for a piece of dirt that dogs poo and pee pee on? What happened, the trailer parks won't let your dogs in anymore?
