Ok, so I'm moving to San Antonio in 7 weeks and I need to pick out an apartment in my price range that isn't too far from work. The best part is that I'm going to have to pick it blind!!! I will not have a chance to actually visit the complex before I move out that. I found 2 apartments that offer the floorplan I want at the price I want... there are definitely some tradeoffs. Mission Ranch (5600 Babcock Rd.) about 6.5 miles away from work, and Abbey at Medical Center (5450 Rowley Road) about 9.3 miles from work. I just need honest opinions about which location is better for a first-timer in San Antonio. Is one place safer than another? Is one more centrally located than the other in terms of things to do? Is location prettier than the other? ANY information you can provide me with would be AWESOME!!! Thank you!!!

Poor Baby! San Antonio is the pits. It's too crowded, too HOT, people are VERY stupid, the roads are ALWAYS under construction, it's running out of water, the highways are parking lots, it only has one grocery store (HEB) that never restocks until items are all gone, city leaders are corrupt clowns, the crime rate is deplorable...I could go on and on, but you get the picture.

Marina needs suggestions not vulgar comments. San Antonio is a wonderful place to raise a family. In my opinion it's one of the safest large city in the US. Those areas that you speak of are ok. I haven't seen those specific complexes. There are areas that aren't so good in the south and east. Even in those areas there are exceptions. The best areas are north central, northwest, northeast.

I LOVE SAN ANTONIO. we have some real nice people here, and if you happen to come across mean rude people, they probably aren't true san antonians. this city has so much love, like if the san antonio spurs win a chapionship, its a party for like a week. and fiesta is a week long party in april that just brings everyone together, and even gives a holiday for a big parade. so forget what those people write about it being bad and horrible.

SA's a great city to live in, with certain things to bear in mind. It tends to be very conservative, culturally. Overall, it's friendly, except for those who seem to be in terminally pissy moods (see above, lol). I would recommend The Abbey over Mission Ranch, only because Mission Ranch is a pretty old complex. I used to live in that area 20-odd years ago, and it was old then. Back then, they were tearing out the swimming pool because they couldn't maintain it. And to you guys who keep up with the whole SA sux bit...get some stones and leave. Try Houston, talk about overcrowded and hot, or Dallas, oh wait, ditto there. I have a better idea, just leave Texas, you're likely to make both places better just by doing that. David

This is a great place to be if you have a family, but if you decide to make a family here do not drink the water. If you've been here long enough you'll notice most people look as if they fell out of the ugly tree and hit every branch on their way down. They have this Mayberry look to them, like they're missing a few brain cells. They drive slow, walk slow, and are lazy.

Try it and see for yourself. Join D.A.M.M.(Drunks Against Mad Mothers). Avoid hangovers, stay drunk. Ugly women love drunks, it builds up their self esteem. Drunks love ugly women, it provides a release for their inner love of the female body.
