Did you read what the article says? These programs are designed specifically to assist students who attend high poverty and low performing schools. Sure doesn't put CSF in a very good light does it?

I "reared " my child in the CSF Thank you. You "raise" corn. My son is 25 now. Was in the resource portion of CSF. I had to fight and threaten to go to Indianapolis many times to get, not just my child, but other children in the resource department the help that they so desperately needed. Babysitter? I think not! I am a mother who has championed a special needs child since birth. I was told he would never have any more of a mind than an 18-month-old baby. I was told by the Clinton Central school District he should to be put in a cage! I moved him to CSF in 7th grade. I fought , I championed, we stayed the course and he graduated in 2008. In 2012-13 he attended a year of College. My son and I did all of this, while I went through Liver Cancer, chemo 3 times and a subsequent transplant. No babysitter here! I have and will continue to watch how CSF decides to spend State and Federal funds.

A couple of positive programs within CSF:

Science fair dominance continues: FMS named ‘top performing’ ninth consecutive year: http://m.chronicle-tribune.com/ftimes/news/sc...

Business students qualify for international competition: http://www.chronicle-tribune.com/ftimes/news/...

All is not doom and gloom, if you have the desire to work hard.

I'm sure these funds have certain strings attached, like requiring that it be used for an educational program, not capital building improvements

And why do you state a 'new school they are trying to force down our throats'? I have been to several of the steering committee meeting concerning the FHS renovation and a new school building was the last thing on their minds. It is un-affordable under current economic conditions.
