In 2010 Clinton County EMS and the Frankfort Fire Department parted ways, but now city officials want a reconsolidation.

In his new 200-day plan, Frankfort Mayor Chris McBarnes said he wants to bring the ambulance service “back home.” County official have yet to weigh in on the idea.

Whats everyones thought on this????

I think its a terrible and great thing.... anyone?

It's not his decision to make since the county foots the bill for EMS. However combining them again would save on funding since the firemen are also EMT's and would make for better coverage. However, I believe some new ground rules need to be established so we don't have a repeat from the past. Chief Kirby and EMS Director Balcezak are both professional and level headed people so I can see it working but we never know who might be chief in the future when a new mayor comes in?

EMT'S do a fantastic job but I believe we need paramedics who can administer life saving injections /drugs on the scene, whereas EMT'S can't. Seconds count when trying to save a life or a limb.

I agree! All other surrounding counties have paramedics and Frankfort needs them also.

EMS Director Balcezak may be level headed but a good manager he is not. He hasn't been able to bill for EMS runs since early in 2013. Because of this lack of management he is now overspent his budget and wants the volunteers to foot the bill for his shortfalls. Heck he is willing to pay his wife more as a paid EMT than he wants to pay the services where volunteers respond for free. People need to realize that a good paramedic does not automatically make a good EMS director.

It's absolutely crazy his WIFE gets 36 hours a week guaranteed. When no other part time employees can. I think he is pathetic. He tells you he will work with you then doesn't. He tells everyone what they want to hear but does the exact opposite.

Plus he put EMTs as supervisors. So the EMT is over a paramedic???? What the eff?

Time for a change.

Also, what about the second guy in "charge" Brooks. He walks around in a ems shirt with a gun strapped to his hip. Since when is he a cop???? Good ol boy system. Pathetic.

Do you really think they care though? It has been said through the grape vine that this "Brooks" guy always gets away with everything. Also, according to the paper, didn't he make well over 50,000$$$? I don't even think our fire chief makes that. He gets a take home car like a cop hell who knows he may be a cop. I do know he drives it all over. I have seen him in Lafayette, lebanen. And I know people have said he was driving in kokomo. Talk about waste of money. This director guy doesn't even live in the county! I know I don't want my tax dollars supporting this half ass service. I wouldn't let then touch my dog.

Brooks..., The guy who got his daughter a job with NO experience. The guy who holds a Bible in one hand and a knife in the other to stab you in the back in the other. The Reverend Micheal Brooks???? Why he would never do anything dishonest or underhanded. The same Micheal Brooks who was up Cory's rear end so far all you could see was feet hanging out. Clinton County EMS.., Still the same as it was a year ago , but different fools in charge. People do care about EMS but the commissioners dont.

Then vote the commissioners out of office!!! I will be looking forward to hearing Milburn Drysdale out and about with another candidate.

Sounds like sour grapes to me...have any of you tried talking to Robbie or Mr. Brooks since it sounds like you are employees? I think you better do your homework before you get on here and blow off. Mr. Klinedinst is the reason for the budget shortfalls. He knew he was leaving at the end of last year and he shorted the budget, therefore Robbie inherited the mess left behind. And it was under Cory's watch that the billing got behind NOT Robbie's. This billing issue goes way back and should have been resolved 2 or 3 years ago. I for one feel sorry for Robbie for being put in this situation and then having to listen to disloyal employees bitch about it. If you don't like your job QUIT!

So your saying Robbie Ball sack was unable to read or comprehend a budget? Any good administrator would have read his budget and foretasted any possible short fall, after all the budget was made a year in advance. Bad management and a failure to understand the budget process is no way anyone's fault but his own. And i am sure it was Cory's fault that Robbie hired his wife and claimed overtime for being a salary employee.

Rev Brooks. Hahaha he is the biggest backstabbing basted around. He has shorted employees hours and gives himself more. Oh wait. He does payroll. Nvm. His daughter wears an "EMS SKIRT"! lol hoe is this "professional". Cracks me up that know one sees this as a safety issue. Whatever. Not my job that will be lost when they all don't have jobs. Brooks even shuts down people's login to pick up hours. Who gives him that right? I for one Will be glad when this shit whole service goes back to the fire House.

No need to get nasty. Rev Brooks will not be able to reverse his earnings this year. Just wait until the end of the year. His earnings will be public information and he will have to explain how after a year of doing the payroll his earnings have doubled. Believe me it will be way more than $50,000. Balcezak has done the same only utilizing a second employee, his wife, to direct money to himself. The amount of money these guys have spent is more than in any prior year of a county EMS service. The amount of revenue they have brought in. Almost nothing compared to other years. Bottom line they don't know what a budget is. Sometimes it takes time but what goes around comes around.

There have been a lot of half truths and whole lies told here. I know to try and defend all accusations that have been post would be a mood point due to the people posting this thing have made up there minds no matter how narrow it maybe. I would think that instead of getting on chat pages and throwing around wild accusation maybe u should be a part of the salutation. People said horrible thing about cory and I would bet some of the people that pushed so hard to get rid of cory are the same ones on here pushing to remove Robbie and the commissions. Our EMS system dose have it's fault but who doesn't. I know I will be in touch with robbie and anyone else that could us a helping hand in making this work and I hope some of u will do the same.

Rob Balcezac is a superior leader and he was left with a mess to clean, including the employees posting on here. This man has a new system coming into place to collect bills, outside agency.

Keep up the hard work and and try to educate some of the misfits that work for you. If you can't help these cancers, the get rid of them. Make this community proud but stay out of the Fire Department, works well where you are. Good job...
