God forbid local government wanting to invest in the future of it's citizens. That's just crazy talk.

Better to keep the education level of Frankfort and Clinton county citizens as low as possible, keep them working at Walmart, fast food joints, and dead-end factory jobs. College graduates have all kinds of wild and crazy ideas.

So are you saying the Mr. McBarnes was not legally elected to his current position?

Do you have a vote in the city council?

Please tell me what business will come to downtown because IVY Tech came, care to elaborate? So you are saying by spending over 2 million dollars on IVY Tech is a great investment for the city and what do you think the return of money will be to the city for this so called investment. Oh and don't give me the horseshit that it makes a college graduate out of a kid because it doesn't. Also, why don't you gt with Mrs Trees and see how many of those students live right here in your city? If they already live here, then what money are they going to spend here that they already don't

One other thing, how much money does the city have right now and why is it that the Mayor told each department they need to cut money? Are they broke? Or are they just doing the responsible thing? You tell me...

In battle with an unhinged individual is more like it.

And your hatred of higher education shows. Why do you refuse to even consider that fact that communities where the citizens have a higher level of education are generally more prosperous, have lower crime rates, etc.? Why can't Frankfort at least try and move in that direction? Sure it may take a while, but that's what investing in the future means.

You are all about short term gains.

Yes. "Sitting at a computer" does make me money, possibly more than you. A college degree combined with a strong work ethic can do you wonders. You should try it sometime.

And I do have an idea of what farmers "go through". I may not farm myself but I have several friends and relatives that currently farm.

Yes,I agree with Punjab. The mayor and his clique know what's best for the hayseeds. You're right,Punjab. Your college education means you are a better person than the lazy losers inhabiting Frankfort's populace. It's too bad a man of such importance and sophistication must live amongst the natives. It is a very heavy burden you're forced to shoulder.

To the malcontents, the message is clear. Can y'all just be quiet?
Please, do not question the motives of your leaders. You are just simpletons. Frankfort has many challenges facing it and these challenges can only be dealt effectively by your current leadership consisting of the most brilliant minds Frankfort has to offer. After all, they're earning more money than most of you hayseeds. And that is how we measure brains, brawn and success. Just ask Punjab!

<quoted text>Be truthful, you know that making comments on topix allows you to go unchallenged, be unaccountable, for anything you contend, or allege. You choose topix of all the ways available to you to express you discontent. If it was true that the mayor is going against the peoples desires then he would not be getting the praise he is receiving. Person of the year, politician of the year for the past two years. When a poster says that it would be wiser to spend money paving a street instead of bringing IVY to town then they are blinded by hate. How can a paved road bring bring more business to our down town! Blinded by jealousy! You comments on how he is going against the people is totally unfounded, the old saying " can't make everybody happy" is more like the truth. The very act of voicing your opinion here proves your true motives. Not a desire to help make Frankfort better in the public arena, just an easy way to vent your hate.My question that NOT one of you posters will address is WHY topix. The truth!
Why Topix? Because the Paper will not print editorials that question IVY TECH, Alive on 65, the facts about eastside drainage, the serious financial situation that Frankfort is in, and on and on.

Why Topix? Because the local radio has much the same caviler attitude about investigating things as the Times does. Here's a little quip that you might find interesting. Vern Kasper refused to let the State get into his property on the east side of town for the inspection of the drain line that runs across his site. Why? Who knows. But a quick trip to the local courthouse will net you a folder approx 2 inches thick of letters from him and his lawyers. This guy is part of the reason it took decades to make things happen on that situation.

Why Topix? Because most of the truthful posters on here can't afford a Public Relations woman to churn out press releases to make us heard.

Why Topix? Because most of the truthful posters on here know that the administration sees these thought. While there are some rather unrealistic responses and comments on here, there is also a truckload full of facts and truths.

I take offense that you call me a hater. I have posted the word 'opinion' and you obviously don't like it. Have I called you or other posters on here a hater? Nope. I just provide the info that I can, encourage others to seek out knowledge in the form of attending meetings, rolling up to the local courthouse and old stoney and demand some paperwork that is public access, and form your own opinions and post them on here if you feel led.

It just shows the maturity level that posters have when they degrade others on here. Just look at the barbs being traded between Punjab and Nu Viewer...

Oh well... these are just my opinions that are free from the obnoxious and vengeful words of others.

Hope that you and others on here can find a way to communicate that allows you to exercise the right of freedom of speech and park the harsh words somewhere else.

Is there a contract signed by both parties? Where might one find that contract?

Every reason they site on here about not having any other avenue to voice their opinion is a lie. Called the paper, they would gladly give them press but they must post their name and it must be without personal attack. They will get press if they site constructive criticism. Calling the mayor McCheese won't fly! They expect you to show respect, which if you have noticed they are incapable of. I called WILO, they would love to have respectful debate about where our community is heading, again you would be expected to act respectfully and you would have to be named. Excuses will never add up! You choose topix because of it very nature, I would never call topix a forum just a place to disrespect who ever you choose. N.V. calls our mayor,McCheese, shows his true self.Could you see him doing that in the public forum during a debate! Maybe someday N.V. will get the nerve to run for office and debate a true leader in front of the people! SMILE!
