Multiple problems for Frankfort schools

May 15, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: WLFI-TV West Lafayette

The bad news was in abundance for the Community Schools of Frankfort, between accounting errors totaling more than $1 million, a big drop in test scores, the elimination of teacher jobs, and a principal under investigation.

Wow... how is that for transparent?

"...taking responsibility for those things"? That's taking one for the team Don. Sounds like to me some people need to go back to accounting school, there needs to be some auditing done by an outside source, and someone who can write contracts that don't always favor the employee when they leave the corporation.

In other words, another typical year for the Community Schools of Frankfort.

Incredible. Fancy buildings, new tennis courts and still our students can't read. Priorities anyone?

I bet I know why...

The no child left behind isn't all encompassing. It's specific to nationality.

Sound mostly like the complete and utter lack of parental involvement in a child's education. There are many, many parents in this town that view the school as nothing but a baby sitting service for their children. Whether or not they actually learn anything is secondary.

When are you running for the CSF school board?

I was educated at Frankfort and thought it was valuable. With more education than my parents have, I have been able to get more FREE benefits than my folks ever did. When I look back, I must thank the US government for providing everything in life that I/we need. None of us work, or have any intention of working, why should we?

I was listening to Frankfort's #1 news media (according to Vern) Wilo radio this morning and didn't hear anything about this. But then again it was Wilo.

Although part of you statement may be true, there are majority of students when they ask for helped they are treated as if they are burdening the teacher by asking for help. Perhaps if my child was Hispanic and did not speak English they would get special attention or a tutor to sit in class and translate at the cost of tax payers.
Please don't point the racist card either. I know this happens for a fact daily in our school corporation.

IMO, the Hispanics have been in this community long enough that, hopefully, there aren't anymore Hispanic children entering school not knowing how to speak English. If there are, something is awry! Like, maybe illegals are still streaming into this community?

Punjab, likes to call names. If you go to the "Who is Punjabby" thread he is either Rick or a ****(ranked number two). You can pick. If anyone needs to be kicked off Topix it's Punjab.

This has never happened once to my children during their time attending CSF. If this does occur why are you not taking the issue up the ladder to the school's assistant principal or principal?

Who says I haven't? I'm just stating the facts. Thank-you goodness your children did not experience.
But there are many children that have.
