If you take a few minutes and review the facts of the levy they fire department cannot afford to maintain staffing and the current number of stations with its current funds that are from 12 years ago. Station 23 which is on 48 WILL close if the levy fails. I say keep the fire levy about the fire department and the trustees can be dealt with in the fall if that's your agenda. VOTE YES IN MAY.

Our "good old boys" lapdogs (just like normal joe post) have barks worse than their bites).

Once again, our good old boys club is portraying Springboro as a Scary community of public safety employees, who are uncaring about serving the people, and care only about the people serving their own needs.
It is not in the best interest of our Springboro businesses, our housing communities, and our schools for good old boys,(like normal joe) to spin this reputation of Springboro being a scaring community, warning residents if that are public safety workers are so uncaring that our people are being threatend with services being cut.
That simply is not true, and normal joe should be ashamed of himself using the same old comon scare tactics that public sector workers have used on the private sector forever.
Now if normal joe really is a caring neighbor, instead of just a scaring neighbor (beating the drum for increased taxes), then normal rmal joe should join us in saying No to our township administrators request for more money.
We the people who are voting NO in may are not the ones who are punishing our employed public safety workers; it is our greedy double dipping township administrators who are punishing our employed public safety workers by threatening to shut
down their fire station and eliminating their jobs.
We the people will not be bullied by the threats of endangering the lives of our neighbors IF we vote NO to increased taxes. Our government leaders have all the money they need to provide for citizens continued services; but our government leaders are threatening to shut down the fire station in their sick greedy efforts to scare voters into paying more money.

We will not be taken in like poor old average joe.
Springboro smart voters are far above average and smart voter will just vote NO.

"cannot afford staffing"...gee...and all the double dippers at the township....can't swing a dead cat without hitting one of them...tough, if the township can afford all those double dippers, they can afford to staff the fire dept without a tax increase. VOTING NO ! And will campaign against the levy as well !

Where are the facts for a need of a levy? Where is a budget?
A simply Budget with amounts, numbers. I haven't seen one in the minutes, on the website, anywhere. Numbers simply math.
All of that information is public record, is it not?

I saw the firefighters at the springboro expo today and got to talk to them about the levy. They impressed me. I know I cant run my family budget on my 2001 earnings and I wouldn't expect them to either. They gave my support in may for sure.

support our firefighters -- fire township double dippers

why should double dipping township administrators hire double dipping kidd at a huge salary, depleting funds that should have been used to support our firefighters, so that they could punish the firefighters when this levy fails?

support our firefighters and keep our fire station open - tell double dipping township administrators to reform their budget, cut big double dipping salaries/expenses and stop threatening to do our community harm if citizens don't bend to these silly strong arm tactics. township government has plenty of money; picket needs to step aside and let an admininstrator who knows how to manage our big $14 million surplus; moving needed funds to the Springboro fire department; instead of moving funds to Springboro Parks.

Why should taxpayers reward township government leaders for caring more about synthetic turf on Wade Field; and purchasing the old homestead property from little buddy gabbard; than they care about the financial priorities of investing our tax dollars in the safety and protection of our citizens?

Just say No New Taxes to the Fire Levy in May.
First things First.
Fire double dippers, reform the budget cutting expenses, BEFORE asking homeowners to pick up the big tab for double dippers salary increases.

Apology accepted. I am still confused, however, by the lack of FACTS regarding this taxpayer-funded buyout of Jason Gabbards property. Can you help me find this information?

Where in the clearcreek township minutes is this motion made to buy Mr. Gabbards property, and where is the vote by the trustees recorded? Did Mr. Gabbard vote yes for self-interest financial gain? Isn't this a big conflict of interest for an elected official to benefit financially as result of his public service to the community?

This thread is ridiculous. I may be stupid but I thought it was a forum about the fire/ems levy....not about double dipping administrators, politicians with personal agendas or the all so popular "good ole boy network." Check some facts, 10 year levy lasted for 12 years. More equipment, staffing, and available resources provided. Now the fire department asks for a levy to maintain a level of services. What's so hard to comprehend. Put politics aside.....it's the same folks saying no to everything then complaining.

Support our Firefighters -- fire double dippers - reform the budget - cut expenses

We don't need increased taxes to support our firefighters---we need Picket and township leadership to get on board and fix the budget.
With $14 million surplus, we need good leadership who supports all services to the public.
Vote no to increased taxes in May.

While I'm wasting my time speaking to a bunch of radical conservatives, bite on this..... If Ed Wade is so crooked and backwards how has he managed to get re-elected for 30+ years while maintaining a growing, thriving community. Obviously the masses (not just his inner circle of minions) think he does a pretty good job. You get your vote in November just like every other year so exercise your right....but politics and public safety services should be separate.
