The Right to Choose Is Fundamental t the American Way!

The Constitution's First Amendment guarantees every American the right to freely associate with whomever they want and with whatever groups they want.

The idea that Americans are forced to join labor unions as a condition of employment and forced to provide funds to labor unions, that are used to promote values and ideas in direct conflict to their personal beliefs, is wrong.

All Americans should have the right to choose whether to associate with labor unions, and fear of losing a job or not getting a job should not be an issue in that decision.

Workplace Freedom laws merely ensure that Americans are able to exercise that choice. Contrary to the claims of pro-unin zealots, workplace freedom laws don't ban labor unions. Workplace Freedom laws protect the fight of workers to choose. All Ohioans deserve the right to choose!

Can anyone ask Mr. Wade for this official information; or do you know which person at the township to ask?

Please get your facts correct BEFORE posting here. There are 6 levies in place now, 3 fire and 3 police. THEY DO NOT EXPIRE!! They are FOREVER. They are listed on the on the clearcreek web site. FACT the township rolled over 13.6 million of unused ( extra ) dollars into their investment account. Why other than pure greed would our fire chief ask for another levy when he could dip into the 13.6 million dollars anytime. Don't you think the have enough money now, why squeeze the tax payers for more?<quoted text>
It is true that the levies are continuous and never expire, but it is also true that under Ohio law, the amount of money a property tax levy collects cannot increase beyond the sum collected in its first year, except for added value from new construction during the first year. To implement this provision of the law, a “reduction factor” is applied to properties so that Fixed Income Status is maintained following reappraisals and updates such as population increases. The adjusted tax rate is called the effective tax rate.
What this all means is that the amount of annual funds generated by each of the previous levies remains fixed; while the costs of the products and equipment that are used to deliver services to the community have consistently increased. A good example is found with fuel. When the last fire levy was passed in 2001, the cost of a gallon of diesel fuel was $1.86. Today that cost has increased to $3.43.

Today, the fire department serves approximately 30,265 people, which is an increase of 44% from 2001. Crews responded to 2,735 emergencies in 2012, up 58% from 2001 counts. All of this while fire levy funding remains unchanged. The fact is simple - the fire department cannot continue to provide adequate service to a steadily growing population experiencing an increasing number of emergencies with the same annual funding levels used in 2001.

Voting No on issue 3 is not a healthy choice.

If the levy is rejected by voters it will have an impact on services. The most noticeable effects will be increased response times, decreased ability to handle emergencies, the closure of Station 23, a reduction in staffing, and the potential for increased insurance premiums for residents.

For victims of cardiac arrest, the American Heart Association recommends that paramedics arrive on scene and provide life saving defibrillation within five minutes for the best chance of survival. Irreversible tissue damage to the heart and brain occur in six minutes. If response times increase, the chance of successful resuscitation from cardiac arrest will certainly decrease.

An increased response time could also allow minor fires to grow out of control. The typical house fire doubles in size every minute as it grows. The Clearcreek Fire District's current response times allow crews to bring many fires under control during their early stages.

The HEALTHY CHOICE is to Vote YES on 3.

Enough money is already being generated by taxpayers and additional money is not needed at this time.
Better management is needed of our money. The township general fund has plenty of money. Township trustees and administrators can vote to transfer these excess funds to fire fund. How IRRESPONSIBLE of township government to give thousands of dollars to Springboro parks when our tax dollars are needed to put out fires in our children's homes! How IRRESPONSIBLE of township government to spend over a million dollars purchasing the Gabbard property, when our tax dollars could have been used to buy gasoline for our fire trucks and ambulances to save people's lives. The time has come on May 7th to Vote No to Issue 3.
We must stop our government from wasting MORE of our money!

Again, Can you clearly answer these questions so that the average citizen can understand?

Is Clearcreek Township Trustee, Mr.Ed Wade, who is in the insurance business, involving his insurance company in this process?

Is it not a "conflict of interest" for any elected public servant to make decisions for the government that would financially benefit his business operations in the private sector?

Why the deceit and emotional blackmail coming from our Clearcreek Township Firefighters/EMS against hardworking taxpaying homeowners?

Isn't it true that our Fire Fund has over a million dollar surplus which is a good reserve of funds for public safety services, with no ADDITIONAL levy needed at this time?

Isn't it true that our 2013 CCFD "appropriated/not yet spent" funds balance is $7,268.896?

Isn't it the responsible thing for citizens to go to the polls on MAY 7th to Just Say No to Issue 3?

As a responsible citizen, I have an obligation to vote my conscience, "based ONLY on the facts being proven that our Clearcreek Fire/EMS District NEEDS more of our hard earned money in order to "continue the same level of good service that residents are now receiving."

To my understanding of the Fire department budget, I clearly see that our CCFD has not proven financial facts that the fire department NEEDS MORE MONEY to provide public safety services.
Why is it NOT my responsibility to go to the polls on MAY 7th and JUST SAY NO to ISSUE 3?

Totally Agree! Taxpayers NEVER get a break from the continuous levy fatigue and emotional blackmail from our forced unionism
local government employees in our schools and public safety services.

Mr. fireman, isn't it clearly seen by responsible citizens that you do not NEED MORE MONEY to do your job?

Isn't it clearly seen that this ADDITIONAL levy is all about Mr. fireman WANTING MORE MONEY for more job security, more pay increases, and more increases in compensation/benefits packages?

Isn't it clearly seen that this "Yes to 3 Help Us Help You" emotional blackmail is just MORE MONEY WANTED to help Mr.
fireman break the backs of local taxpayers already beat down with levy fatigue for local government "union employees" demands; while holding homeowners hostage threatening "harm to our family and property" as punishment IF we don't agree to this unencessary ADDITIONAL tax increase of Issue 3.

Our local citizens have RESPONSIBILITY stand firm against this type of community "bullying for dollars" AND go to the polls on May 7th and Just Say NO to Issue 3!
