Stay away from this company. They cannot make glasses. Went back 5 times and my glasses still are not correct! Exam was mediocre with "new" people. Have not been satisfied. Called their number and have never been called back. Do not want to talk to the mgr. anymore. Only trying to get one right then take back the other. First is still garbage. Paid over $450 for these! I want my money back.

I'm in the same boat. I went to the store in Greene County. Took 6 1/2 weeks to get one pair and they fell a part within 24 hrs. After 8 weeks I still don't have the other pair. I called customer service & e-mailed them. I'm also going to complain to the Ohio Attorney General's office. I saw on their website that 4 people have filed complaints this year on the Greene County Store already. I trying to get a full refund. You should contact the Ohio Attorney General's office too. Good Luck.

I am from Sacramento California. I applied to work with Stanton Optical. I have 17 years experience in the Optometry/Ophthalmology industry with a wonderful customer service background. I interviewed with one general manager, who wanted to hire me but told me. He would have to talk to his boss who was currently opening a store in Fair Oaks California. I interviewed with that manager at that store.
A few weeks passed and I heard nothing, so I finally found out that the first person who had interviewed was no longer their and that the R.D.O Brad would be conducting interviews. I had done some research and found that that office had numerous complaints because of there customer service. I had observed while waiting for my fist interview an employee tell a patient, "I don't know." On something as a screw that had fallen out of the patients glasses and I also witnessed a few other non-customer service friendly acts while their.
I finally, received a phone call from the home office asking me if I could do a SKYPE Interview with Brad. We were able to get the interview set up, and then the next day I received a phone call from Brad asking me to come in since he was in Sacramento. I went in to the interview and was rudely told by the manager TY to go sit down and not to let Brad see my walking around. I had my interview and I was told by Brad that he would be calling people back on Monday letting them know about the position. I waited until almost closing on Monday and I finally called. Ty answered the phone and told me that, "I should not bother Brad because he does not like to be bothered." So, I waited for about two weeks and never heard anything I called again. Once again Ty answered the phone, "She told me again Brad does not like to be bothered." I explained to her that it had been two weeks since I last called and that I wanted him to know that I was still interested in the position. She said, "That they Brad had not made a decision yet, for the retail side of the store."
That was in August I started the interview process at the end of June 2011. Companies should at least take the time to send out a letter or make a phone call to let potential employees know if they are hired or not. As a manager I always contacted people who I interviewed to let them now that another applicant had be chosen for the position. I think that the CEO of the company need to know not only about all the customer service complaints that Stanton Optical has against them but also how they treat future and current employees. If anyone has any further comments or a similar experience to mine please write down your comments maybe we could get some short of petition together.

Our experience with Stanton Optical was great. We went to the Dayton mall store on December 31st. Yes we waited until the last day our insurance would pay for 2011. they were busy, but took the time to welcome us. We looked around picked out two pairs of name brand glasses . We had them both made in no line bi focals. One pair was made in to lenses that are clear and then change into sun glasses. All for around two hundred dollars. what a deal.We picked them up yesterday and they are perfect. This place has all brands of glasses,Coach, sketchers, vogue ,kenneth cole, all name brands plus more. we will return there for all our needs. Our insurance rolled over at the first of the year.I went somewhere else around 3 months ago, but picked out 2 pair today. I suggest you give them a try.

Stanton optical commercial in Ohio is offensive to Asians. The squealing glasses that mimic martial artists are offensive. If you have any decency you would boycott the store, and demand that they remove this offensive ad. They do not run this commercial in southern California - they haven't got the guts. They only run it here in Ohio where it's mostly whites. Show your American mannerism and boycott this company - they are nothing but racists.

I'm a 17 year veteran Optical Laboratory Specialist. I've worked for the biggest,(Pearle Vision Centers) and I've worked for the best.(Precision Lens Crafters)
This is by far the WORST company, with the worst business plan, the worst management, and the poorest quality of frames and customer service that I've ever worked for in my life! Stanton optical is pure garbage!
After Friday, Jan. 27, I QUIT working for this trainwreck!

while I think stanton optical has questionable customer service and bait and swithc tactics, i think people need to get over the 'offensive to asians" commercial. grow a thicker skin and get over it. people are sick of the whiny politically correct liberal B.S. Let me guess, your going to sue and try to make millions of dollars off of a frivilous lawsuit...

You want their lowest prices? 2 pr single vision in plastic or poylcab with ar is $69, bifocals $99 and progressives $150 on all frames $129 or less. Keep saying no till you get that price, it will work, even threaten to walk out if you must, they hate that.
If they don't seem clear once you get them, take them elsewhere with your RX to have them checked out, they don't inspect them for quality or accuracy.
Ask to be handled by a licensed optician, if they have one. You may then get an accurate measurement if getting bifocals or progressives. Remember, the others they hire are idiots working for low pay so they will know nothing about optics.

When Stanton first opened in the Dayton mall area I went and gave them a try., the experience was awful. However, they are now well established and so I went back. What I found was they are wayyy over priced and it is now been 7 weeks since I purchased them and still no glasses...but the do advertise that they can make them(most of the time) in an hour. I was told after I paid and was done that it would be atleast 2 weeks before getting my glasses back, something that should have been told to me upfront. At 2 weeks I called and was told that my lenses should be in today and that they would be ready in a week. At 4 weeks I called and let them know how displeased I am and was told my lenses should be in that day and this guy said he would call and find out all the details and would call me back by the end of the day....,,,,never heard from him. At 6 weeks I called and spoke to a woman and went off! She told me that they had the script in the glasses and all they had to do was cut them and send them to Chicago and they would be ready in a week...so I called That following Thursday and they were still not ready, now they will be ready by this Tuesday,maybe.... the kicker is that I have surgery Monday that will take several weeks to recouped from, they were aware of this and now they are telling me they will bring them to me, how will my glasses be fit? I also asked how much money I will be getting back, I was told half of what I paid...so if that turns out to be true I will have paid what I feel is a fair amount for what I purchased.......however it has still taken longer to get these glasses then it took me to get them in the early 80s!!!

Your only option is to file a small claims suit against the company. Believe me you will win! Just for the pure shits and giggles.....they hire sales people that have zero optical experience(but are cute)and THEY are fitting you with your new glasses.

I live in Southern California and I see this commercialall the time...and I don't see how it is offensive unless you are overly sensitive...my Asian friends don't care about it one way or the other as it is just a commercial and most people don't even watch them anymore.

I cannot believe this company has been in business so long! They have no idea on how to treat a customer. I tried to leave three times as I did not see frames I liked. Once in the car I realized they kept my prescription. I went back in and asked for it back. They conveniently lost my rx. I simply said it is in "his" pocket. Must have thrown it away.
Went to Lenscrafters and found what I liked. They called my Dr. and got my prescription. Very friendly and courteous.
Stanton did have many frames but on each board they were the same.
After reading these posts, glad I did not give them money. Hope this helps.

It is sad to say that since your experience nothing has changed. The typical turn around time on glasses is 3 weeks minimum but I have seen it take as long as 8 weeks. The CEO Daniel Stanton does not in anyway care. The whole mentality is to give you a in store credit instead of a refund because it to so cheap to make the glasses like pennies on the dollar cheap. So they honestly do not care how long it takes to get your glasses or how many times that have to remake them.

While I also agree that those commercials are offensive, you are quite incorrect regarding them being only shown in Ohio. I live in N. Cali and have been seeing the commercial for about one year.
One thing that I am curious about, how would you happen to know in which parts of the country a particular commercial is broadcast?

After returning my prescription sunglasses to the Jupiter store 5 times ( lenses wouldn't stay in and they fell out and broke ) I was told the frame was defected. So, I picked another frame and ran away from this company. A year or so later, I saw Chandra Bill on TV gushing over the company, so I called her and left a message about my terrible experience with the company. A District Manager calls me, tells me to go to the store and pick out COMPLIMENTARY glasses to try to make up for what had previously happened. She will handle notifying the store. She thens tells me she has my name and number and WILL CALL ME the next week to let me know what days she is at the JUPITER, FL store . I went to the store, they didn't know what I was talking about - I felt like an idiot. I called the District Mgr. Left two voice mail messages.....NO RETURN CALL? I go back to the store and meet with the store mgr., he tells me he will call her and tell her I picked out my glasses. NO PHONE CALL ever came ! I leave her another message asking if she is OK and requesting a call back........TWO and a HALF MONTHS go by, not one call. This is even worse than the first disaster!!! Stay away from this company.
