Miami pays for all these projects with more and more social basic service cut backs .
This tunnel which many say is not needed like the Marlins stadium is not needed will cost min another billion.
These projects are great ways to steal from tax payers as so EASY to skim funds.
The poor and elderly on fixed incomes who rely on social service help will have to eat their own feces by the time Miami's Cuban politicians are finished using the cities money for their gravy train projects.
Another squander of money during a time that Miami is being fleeced already for the Marlins stadium.
ALL thanks to Cuban politicians.
BTW where was the Cuban right wing extremist Marco Rubio when it came to corporate welfare of the Marlins stadium?.
Not a peep as the Miami political Cuban Cosa Nostra plays by their own rules and sticks together.

This tunnel along with the new stadium is an obscenity. The State of Miami is doing pretty much what it wants with Florida taxpayer money and federal grants, and answering to nobody.

The schools are a mess. The roads get fixed when they're in the "right" neighborhoods. Hospitals and FPL are among the walking wounded. And no one is accountable. NO ONE! The local newspapers and TV stations are PR outlets who don't dare print a discouraging word that could piss someone off.

You can blame this piracy on Cuban politicians and you wouldn't be wrong. But they'd be stealing if they were Haitians, Jamaicans, Mexicans or anyone because Miami is an open dumpster where anyone with influence can get to the free lunch.

Yes, it's a little South American country all its own, but the state and the federal government like this fine as long as the cash keeps flowing. "I'm okay; you're okay."

The flash and the leather with a Latin beat are paper-thin. Miami is a joke anywhere else in the world. And all they can say is "It's better than Broward..."

"Hospitals and FPL are among the walking wounded. And no one is accountable. NO ONE"

100% CORRECT and yes it is ONLY the Cubans who are responcible for this as we run the senate-congress-Mayors and most other city council, etc positions.

Being Cuban American myself I would normally say "The mostly , ethnic voting , self defeating Cubans in Miami DESERVE to suffer for only voting for Cubans who seem to be self serving as does every other group (for not voting) against these incumbents"

However since for now I live in Miami .
I am beside myself how BADLY NEEDED money for schools-helping elderly-a REAL bus service and many other social services are being cut for these money "laundering" projects that wind up missing millions of dollars.

People who continue to critisize self serving Castro and rightfully so yet over look the same sins with Miami Cuban politicians deserve to suffer.

Power corrupts; absolute power corrupts, absolutely.

Everyone who lives here knows what a cesspool Miami is, even the old Cuban viejos who meet in Versailles to plot Castro's overthrow over coffee. Yet the Cuban mayors and money men WANT Castro to remain in power as long as possible. Why is that?

The fantasy of the CIA returning Havana to the pre-Fidel bureaucracy is long gone. The closest it came was the Bay of Pigs and sanity prevailed at the 11th hour.

Cuba will shed the Castro brothers, whether from natural causes or otherwise. But the Miami Cubanostra's dream of controlling the flow of cash and aid into post-Fidel Cuba is alive and well and will, when it happens, make the Port tunnel and Marlin's stadium look like church picnics.

This Marshall Plan will rival National Healthcare for cost and will be painted as dramatically humanitarian. Watch as one Cuban politician after another steps up to proclaim how he or she really wanted to normalize relations between the two countries all along. "We just couldn't do nothing with that pig Castro in power."

And as the money spigot is opened, who do you think will "administer" Cuba's reconstruction??? Not Cuba, I guarantee that.

There used to be a joke about California being able to secede from the US because it could feed itself, arm itself and employ all its citizens. South Florida has already seceded although it keeps building up its umbilical cord. At first it was the leading influence in State politics. Now it is a well-financed tail wagging a national dog.

Book your seats on the Havana Ferry. El Causeway may take a little longer.

True but can any group steal as much as Cuban politicians and for most part only do things using their office to help only their friends and family while being reelected constantly?.

In fact has ANY group stolen as much as Cuban politicians, officials in the history of not only Miami but Florida?

Once Miami votes out EVERY Cuban it will move in a positive direction for ALL its citizens.
Other hispanic politicians will have to truly earn reelection by their actions not due to their ethnicity.

Not to mention that I honestly can't fathom any other Hispanic group or any group being as lock step ethnic voters as the Miami Cubans.

Every way you look at it if your NOT Cuban here in Miami you actually have to earn reelection .

"But for now, we need to get these Cuban corrupts out!!

Agree its time to get rid of the political Cuban Cosa Nostra strangle hold that is hurting us all (average non rich Cubans included) so very much.

I agree with Cherokee those are brilliant words as so true.
Doc I am Cuban relocated here from NY roughly bit over 2.5 yrs ago and I rather have a the actual MAFIA in NY run Miami than most of these Cuban politicians . I guarantee things would get done for the average person and truly think less stealing .

I have a Cuban friend of mine who now lives in CA say "Cubans shouldn't be allowed to vote considering the type of people we put in power here in Miami ". I now agree with her .

I can not fasthom a bigger culture of political corruption and more self serving hyenas than many of the Cuban politicians, officials here in Miami.

Dress up the Port of Miami, by all means. Dig a pair of "chunnels" from Watson to Dodge island to "rescue" downtown Miami from truck traffic. Add lanes to I-395 and 836 for links to the airport and the Turnpike. Sure, rail is cheaper and easier but we're Miamians, man, who needs trains when we got trucks???

Now ask your Mayor and Port Managers WHY?

So the Port of Miami can be sold to the United Arab Emirates. Think this is a joke?
http://www.militantislammonitor.org/article/i...

Follow this link, then turn your Port of Miami over to the Jihadists.

Miami politics sinks to a new low. Very, very low.
