Well, how 'bout giving us some notice?? I watch the news in the morning, and evening. Hadn't heard a word about it. Encountered it on the way home from Bicentennial Park on Saturday evening...like, what the hell is this!!

I almost crashed today with an idiot that, because the open lanes were jammed with traffic veered into the HOT lane passing through the poles. I was lucky enough to avoid a colision that could have been pretty bad as the HOT was moving openly. Thinking on the kind of drivers South Florida has, the only solution will be to install a concrete barrier, something that makes impossible for people to veer in or out of the HOT lane when it's not permitted. Those sticks won't work as the article well says. Of course, more cops will be usefull too. I saw none in sight this morning
I won't eb using the HOT anymore and will stay the closest I cna to the right of the highway on the open lanes. The HOT is a very good idea I thin, but the way it's set is very dangerous. Someone will get killed soon

I agree with Charlie - having come from a big city where these types of lanes are used frequently and effectively, i believe that the addition of the HOT was intelligent; however, given the fact that there was not sufficient notice and the fact that drivers here are pretty reckless and dangerous, the addition of the HOT which allows people just enough room to cut in and/or out is a recipe for disaster - word to the wise, block it off!- Let's just hope that the govt figures this out before someone is critically injured or killed. Also - drive safely! If you get stuck in the HOT, just take it to the end, showing up 15 minutes late for work is better than killing/hurting yourself or someone else on the way to work.
