When are these flat landers going to learn to drive safely on our winter roads. These folks leaving or going to the ski resorts are a major threat to traffic safety. Just because they have their four wheel drive SUVs they think they can drive at over 45 miles an hour in snow, or pass when there is no visibility. It is obvious that many cars with Mass. plates blatantly violate our traffic laws. They have no respect for us or our communities. Thank God no one was seriously hurt. I vote for survival of the fittest: Get them out of the gene pool.

I HAVE LIVED IN WATERFORD FOR THE MOST OF MY LIFE. EVEN AS A CHILD WE CALLED OUT-OF-STATERS FOREIGNERS. THIS IS VERY SMALL TOWN, BUT IT IS ALSO A TOURIST TOWN. OUR TOWN CONSISTS OF HILS, VALLEYS AND CURVES. VACATIONERS DON'T SEEM TO BE ABLE TO SLOW DOWN FOR THESE ROAD CONDITIONS, PUTTING ALL OF US AT RISK. I USED TO LOVE TO TAKE MY FIVE MILE WALK EACH MORNING, BUT AFTER BEING PUSHED OFF THE ROAD SEVERAL TIMES BY OUT-OF-STATERS, I KNOW LONGER DARE DO THIS. IN MY OPINION, ALL OUT-OF-STATERS SHOULD HAVE TO TAKE A MAINE DRIVERS TEST IN ORDER TO DRIVER ON MAINE ROADS. AFTERALL, MAINERS ARE THE ONES WHO HAVE TO PAY TAXES TO UPKEEP OUR ROADS AFTER THE OUT-OF-STATERS COME HER AND TEAR THEM UP. I'M NOT SAYING THAT ALL MAINERS ARE GOOD DRIVERS BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT. I'M JUST SAYING THAT AS YOU DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD, WE SHOULD WATCH OUR OWN DRIVING AS WELL AS EVERYONE ELSES. DO YOU KNOW WHAT DEFENCIVE DRIVING IS? IF YOU DON'T, MAYBE YOU NEED LESSONS. SO, DRIVE SAFELY, AND WE'LL ALL BE A LITTLE SAFER OUT THERE! DON'T FORGET TO DRIVE WITH THE WEATHER TOO!
