Hello Metterbug. I'm new to this forum and I have a few questions for you. How do you know that this man is an illegal alien from Mexico by merely looking at him? Do you know him personally? Have you ever seen him before? Have you ever had any conversations with him about any topic? Did the subject of immigration ever get mentioned in these conversations? Did you check his birth certificate to learn where he was born? How do you know that he wasn't born somewhere in the USA if you didn't check his birth certificate? If he was born in the USA, how do you know how long his family has been in the USA? have you done his family tree? Are you aware of the fact that Mexican-Americans have been in the western states of the USA ever since the 1600s? That land was a part of mexico before it became a part of the USA. That land also belonged to Spain before Mexico became an independent country. Mexican-Americans and other Hispanics are free to visit or live in any region of the USA.

How do you know that he isn't another type of Hispanic? How do you know that he isn't either Puerto Rican, Cuban, Honduran, Costa Rican, Dominican, Nicaraguan, Salavdoran, Bolivian, Panamanian, Ecuadoran, Peruvian, Chilean, Paraguayan, Argentinean, or Uruguayan? How do you know that he isn't from Spain which is in Europe?

There are many legal Mexican immigrants who have moved to the USA. Salma Hayek is a famous movie star from Mexico and she is a naturalized U.S. citizen. Have you checked the records in the computer databases of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement to see if the man you wrote about legally immigrated to the USA? Have you checked visa, passport, and permanment resident alien records to learn about this man? Have you learned if he is a tourist or business traveller who is in the country legally? Have you checked the United States Magistrate Court records to see if he passed the U.S. citizenship test the way Salma Hayek did in 2004? Have you checked to see if he is an international student legally attending a college, university or trade school in the USA? Is he a foreign exchange student who is legally attending one of our high schools in the USA? How do you know that he isn't here on a temporary work visa because of NAFTA?

Just because someone doesn't tell Hispanics to get out of our country doesn't automatically mean that we are a bunch of communists. It just means that we are smart enough to know that we don't have unlimited knowledge of complete strangers by simply looking at a Hispanic. It also means that we are smart enough to know that there are many ways that Hispanics and every other ethnic group that exists can be in this country legally. What you wrote is extremely ignorant and very racist. Please stop posting ignorant racist comments because you sound like a redneck and you don't create a positive image of people in your town.

You need to visit your cousins in Metter, because you apparently haven't been to Metter or the surrounding counties on Sunday. INS is contantly monitering the vicinity. Now I however do not agree with the police making the man move from a public parking area during his lunch. We do have some of the worst public servants in the state I believe.

I was with you up until "That land was a part of mexico before it became a part of the USA"...that's when it all became irrelevant. See...being a Historian myself, I recall us whipping Mexico's ass for that territory and Spain being inept at controlling it before that and having to leave….Which would make it American territory...which would make people who do not come here (from Mexico, Spain, Mars, or Jupiter for that matter) through the proper channels illegal aliens. Besides the fact that they mooch off of our system by making money here and not paying anything back into our infrastructure via taxes like the rest of us, our authorities also don't have records of them and any crimes these people commit make it nearly impossible to trace it back to the perpetrators. Please...don't use history as an excuse. It doesn't hold water. If the gentleman was legal, then fine and I don't even know why we are having this discussion. If not, I hope he did get treated badly.

I have been aware of the fact that the USA fought a war against Mexico during the 1800s but you are still forgetting something. Not all of the Hispanics are people who moved here recently. Some of them were born in the USA and their ancestors were in the western states of the USA as far back as the 1600s. People who lived there during the 1800s weren't forced to leave those areas after that war. I am not denying the facts that some of the Hispanics are recent legal immigrants and that some of them are here illegally. I just don't want to jump to a negative assumption without checking to see if the assumption is correct. At the same time, I do agree that the ICE should enforce the immigration laws when they are being broken but you need to have evidence that a law has been broken. Merely being Hispanic doesn't prove that someone has automatically done anything illegal.

Please explain why the movie star Salma Hayek is a naturalized American citizen. she took the citizenship test in 2004 and she passed it. You are wrong because there are some legal immigrants from Mexico and other hispanic countries.

Salma Hayek doesn't work from farm to farm or at Criders. Salma Hayek don't run from a wreck when shes in it. Salma Hayek is not the norm she is the exception.

It depends on the person. Not their skin color. If someone is not legally in the US they need to go back to their own county, until they become legal. That goes for all HUMANS not just Hispanics.
