Winder Police Dept charged James (Jim) Lynn, age 42, with his wife's murder. The newspaper reported that his first wife died sometime around 1989 in Metter. She was found in bathtub and her death was ruled suicide. Does anyone remember this or have info about this? I am having a hard time finding a newspaper article on this. Also, does anyone remember her name? Thanks!

asd Julie Johnson did die and she was pregnant and obviously he has been charged with the murder of his present wife. What's your problem?

Julie was found in her bed with a gunshot wound to the head and it was ruled a suicide but many who worked the case had many doubts. There apparently are no doubts in this poor woman's case. Hope he finally gets what he should have gotten years ago!

He has been charged with murdering his wife. He apparently confessed and led GBI to her body, which he had dumped in a well. So tragic. She leaves behind 4 beautiful children. The story can be found at www.barrowjournal.com

yes i know the true story. no doubt. i just believe if you don't know the true story from the police dept or family memebers you shouldn't post untrue facts. what you hear are RUMORS and what your spreading are MORE rumors.

My words are not rumor. I am not family but my info came from an experienced police officer. None the less this is a terrible tragedy for this young womans family, Jim Lynn's family(not Jim) but most especially the children he deprived of their mother. To me it is a lose lose situation any way you look at it except for the fact that Jim may finally get what he so richly deserves. Those are he facts asd!

asd - i understand what you are saying. www.barrowjournal.com reports that Metter police are dusting off the "case" of Julie's death. I can only hope that IF he was responsible for her death that justice will be served.

someone murdered julie johnson. i dont know who. no one has ever been charged with her death. it was obvious that the death was NOT accidental from the position of the body and the gun. the story was that she had the pistol under her pillow and sometime during the night she accidentally fired the pistol and the bullet struck her in the head..to this, i say BULL SHIT! it could have happened that way and the sky could fall too. another cover up in candler county?

According to www.barrowjournal.com , Metter police are "dusting off the files" of Julie's death. Let's hope and pray that if he did do it, he will be prosecuted for that crime as well. I just left the funeral home visitation for the wife he murdered last week. Her 4 children are pitiful. God bless all the families that have been affected by this man!

The man that murdered Julie they have in custody. Julies death was not a suicide it was flat out murder. The evidence that I saw anyone could have figured that out. His story you could shoot holes in it all day long.

The death of Tonya has many deeply sadden and we are sorry for the loss that her family and children have suffered. This is not meant to be disrespectful in the least, but as a somewhat objective point of view. Those who knew James and Tonya Lynn well, knew that their marriage was no fairy tale. Don't get me wrong the death is not justified by any troubles in their marriage. But the media has made James out to be some sort of horrible, vicious, criminal with no regard to anyone or anything. That is not the case. Tonya has her fair share of faults to attribute to their disfunction. We are not the one to judge James or his possible actions that occurred. Leave the judgement to the one whom knows the actual events that occurred from an neutral point of view. James will have to answer for his actions when his judgement day comes. Both families and the 4 children are in our hearts.

I was great friends with Julie Johnson (I'm also her cousin), Jim's first wife. We went to school together in Metter and she was a beautiful girl outside and in who loved life and loved to laugh. All of us (her friends) know she would not and could not have committed suicide and I'm so glad that justice will finally hopefully be done and that sorry piece of crap prosecuted. We have lived with the loss all of these years.

Not his Judge, you are right about one thing he will answer on judgement day. Maybe his present wife had her faults but don't we all. I know one of his wives and I know her life with him was hell. Thank God she divorced him before it was too late for her. Julie was a wonderful person and loved by many. I am so very sorry Tonya's children lost their mother way too soon and sorry they will now lose their father. Maybe Julie and Tonya Lynn are together with Julie's baby. RIP Tonya..You were loved
