Good for you!! As i said in my previous post "(not the mothers, for the most part)" I said "most" not "all" Statistics show that men like you are in the minority. More men abandon their children that women. Its fact. I do not get help from the government for my children but i admit that there was a time i needed help getting on my feet after the divorce and with no help from the father. As always i was denied. I was told basically to "get a job" or "maybe you should have thought about that before you had kids with him." I was a full time student at the time. i managed to finish school and take care of my children with out their fathers help and until this day and the day i die I will continue to do so.

And if you are the parent you say you are then again "good for you" I'm not giving you too much credit for taking care of your responsibilties. you made them to. I will however give you credit for not following the footsteps of the "modern man"

15 years I have raised my two daughters right by my self. the courts told my ex to pay 50 dollars a week in child support. I have recieved 1 payment in 15 years. The courts are no help and child support recovery is no help. In 15 years I have paid the bills put food on the table and clothed both of my girls. Every now and again I have saved enough money to go on vacation. Sometimes I have had to get side jobs sometimes I have not. I have never ever asked or applied for a handout. I have on many occasions have asked for my ex's assitance and never got it. If we couldn't afford it we don't get it. These sorry asses that make em and leave em as you call it. Runs both ways. Cause I my dear lady I am a MAN. I will not be categorized with you generalization of men. Women are just as sorry as some men are. You do what you have to to take care of your child regardless what your spouse is or has done.

wow, i feel sorry for you. Just the fact that you have no one better to spend your time with on Christmas eve other than your computer is sad enough and explains your cold hearted responses. God forbid if you ever fall down and need help from another human being. I pray that that person has the heart you dont and extends that hand. You know its the one that wont be your own.

I've come to believe that in most cases truly poor people don't stay poor for very long! They have no choice but to find a way! I am a single mother of two with very little to no help. I more than qualify for food stamps and probably other assistance as well. I choose to budget my money for the basics rather than get on something like that. I feel if I ever get on government assistance, that I would lose all of my motivation to better myself--kind of like the parent that won't cut the apron strings. The government needs to show some 'tough love' and throw some of these people out of the nest. Trust me--they'll fly! When given no choice, people tend to find a way. By the way--all races are pretty much equally on food stamps. The white girls just go shopping late at night or when they are less likely to be seen. I guess that is just our culture to not be proud about the situation. Black women on the other hand are taught from the beginning that smart people take advantage of the system. They even tell each other how to do it. That's part of there culture. They ARE smart--it's the governement that needs to get it together. As for hispanics and others--I do not know enough to really say.

I apologize for my errors and mis-spelled words. I was so caught up in what I was saying, that I didn't pay attention to that sort of thing.

As much as I hate arguing with idiots who cannot spell or use proper grammar, you are all just that. If you don't want to live in a country that takes care of the less fortunate citizens, there's always places like Haiti or Kenya accepting emigrants. I have both worked and paid my taxes and been in a position to need some assistance. If you think that because you grew up with every opportunity everyone else did, then you need to educate yourself. Take a course in Sociology if you're so smart. Have a nice day.
