Once again, our very own Andy Anderson, as well as Micky McManus and Jerry Mizell voted AGAINST the project labor agreement. This agreemnt would have been a boost to our local unions. But no, indifferent to USW's and our local trades, Anderson, Micky and Mizell, voted last week to support the agreement and once again, bounced around in their typical two faced fashion, voted against it tonite. If it was not so serious, it would be funny.

How can we continue to put up with these idiots voting one way in committee, and then voting against something at the council. They are playing us like a fiddle here in Metropolis. For God's sake, vote out they knuckleheads this April.

Its time not only the Unions but every working person start attending the Council meetings and take an active role against these two faced liars. How much more are we going to have to endure with these guys. This is a insult to our people here in town, and they leave the meeting, laughing about how they bamboozled the rest of the council. Help stop the madness and vote against Andy Anderson and the rest of them soon.

Well in Andy's defence he and Mickey got an ear full from Mr. BILL"S BBQ I guess he and his Brother Mike are going to start getting around to bidding on City Of Metropolis jobs next.
Way to go the the rest of the Aldermen and woman as a union man I think you.

I'll respond one time and one time only to you fan. I won't say Saluki because that would be a disgrace to the Saluki fans in Southern Illinois. The city already complies with the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act so it does not need to limit the bidding of contracts to just one sector of the work force. You can not be a good steward of the city's money when you agree to limit the bidding to one group. The only thing you've done now is drive up the cost to the people that live here. You're the lair saying I voted for this in committee and was laughing after the meeting. That vote was no laughing matter because it's going to hurt this city. You're also wrong about being indifferent to USW and our local trades, but you say what you want, you and I both know you're full of it. You're also the idiot because you know if those others were bamboozled it wasn't by me. Do a little trimming on your nose and lose a little weight and you may be alright.

Getting an earful from Mr Bills BBQ says a whole lot for Frick and Frack. Saying one thing and doing the opposite is quite the trend for these guys. I sure as hell hope someone runs against them.

I would not commend the rest of the council. I guess no one else even bothered to speak up for it either. Frick and Frack have a tendency to derail the good stuff.

Bob Griffey cannot beat Anderson. He is not going to run against him. Anderson is much too strong to be beat in that ward. Bob had better just stay at home and enjoy his county retirement.

HA, you say you comply with prevailing wages, yet you had to pull back on an electric contract because they were NON UNION. That would have been sorta EMBARRASSING eh Mickey McManus ?????????

I repeat, it is an INSULT to the labor and working people in Metropolis to ignore this vote. I cannot wait til the next project comes in Mickey McManus, and when they bring in non union people, you can really stand up to the USW and say 'hell yes, I am proud I voted this way'

You are the idiot. God help our town.

bills bbq and his brother are not on the council, so you are not as smart as you think you are saluki fan, so how does someone vote against someone thats not on it in the first place?????????? bill mcdaniel use to be the owner of bills but is no longer. SO before you post something make sure you know what you are talking about.

Oh I know, "Not so Fair".

Bill Ed is the owner of BIll's BBQ now, not billy mcdaniel. It appears taht Bill Ed and brother Mike, pissed in the ear of Andy Andersno and Micky McManus about the perils of this union agreement. They both said they were for it one week, and then vote against it the next week. Heck, if you can't believe what they say anytime,(which is what Andy and little Micky McManus are famous for), then why should they be entrusted to vote for anything in the city.

And, numnuts, I do know what I am talking about.

Why don't you people leave Andy alone. He is a good kid and should not be persecuted for anything he chose to vote for or against. This country is the land of freedom. He deserves to have his voice just like the rest of us. If he voted against something then I am sure that he has a reason for doing so. No one has the right to put him down for standing up for what he believes is right.

When you are elected to a position like Andy is you have to take the heat for your actions. Andy and Mickey mouse Mcmanus along with the other alderman that voted against this agreement should be ran out of town. When they vote against an agreement like this one they are just as good as spitting in the face of EVERY working man and woman alive. We have 100's of men and women at Honeywell that is locked out by the same type of people why don't you ask those on the picket line what kind of kid Andy is. Far as I can see it is we thought Andy was a man when he was elected , but since you point it out to us, he is just a "KID" wanting to be a man. Well until he stops acting like a child him and Mickey Mouse should hide their faces in the sand.
SHAME ON THE KID AND MICKEY MOUSE.
By The Way
Look at the reply made by Mickey himself they also need to learn to treat the voter of Metropolis better than he has if he wants to be re-elected.
Signed by a voting union man.

Tell it like it is you're right when you're elected you take the heat for your actions. I have no problem with that but you're also suppose to do what's in the best interest of the city and it's people. And what was pasted was not, in my opinion. We represent Union and Non-union businesses and people in this city, not just one sector. We, the government, have no business telling anyone who they have to hire for work they need done. They have a word for that and it's called FREE ENTERPRIZE. I could have rolled over and voted the other way, but that wasn't what I was elected to do and that's to represent all of this city. This vote had notthing to do with the locked out workers. I have friends on the line and I hope they get to go back soon. This was throwed in the mix to try and have public opinion against us. You also said look at the reply I made, which I can see might not look right, but they make a thing called IP addresses, so I know where my reply went. Since a Disney theme was used the only thing I don't know is if I was replying to Goofy or Dumbo.

You union guys are really getting on my nerves. I agree with Andy and the other council members who voted against this bs. It is in the city's best interest. Metropolis continues to fall and fail and until some people with some balls stand up for the people who actually pay the bills against union bullies and other non-growth special interest the downward slide will continue.
