Postal Alert: Keep close watch on your mailed prescriptions

there was a guy i heard of going around stealing senior citizens medications from their mailboxes. I guess this is mail order prescription benefit. now with the postoffice message in the paper, all drug thiefs will know what day of the week to look for those packages. Any elder person who recieves their medications thru the mail should speak with a police officer so they can drive by and monitor and look for any suspicious activity. Or have a close trustworthy friend or family member keep a close eye on your home... even heard the person was bold enough to go right up to someones front porch mailbox and take his/her meds.

This is a very sad and pathetic world these days. This person was doing work for a church!!! what a shame!!

Please be careful and have as many trustworthy people you can to watch your mailboxes for any suspicious persons roaming around or walking around. All of us good law abiding citizens should stick together and support one another.

Most scripts can be shipped requiring a signature. Sounds like a better option

That's a good idea and SHOULD be required. Though sometimes, the postal service employees are in such a hurry they could be getting a signature from a thief. Has to be a safer way. Post Office Boxes would be a good idea for mailed prescriptions but, maybe some seniors can't get out of the house. They could try to find an honest person to check their PO Boxes tho. In Methtropolis I think that would be hard to find. I just saw a 79 year old women in trouble for selling marijuana and she had 130,000 in cash in her home. Wow 79? really?

IF someone knows a police officer personally maybe they could pass this notice around to one so they will be on watch for suspicious activity. This supposedly happened off of North Ave.

I'm going to do more research to see if I can find out who did this. It's been at least Sept last year since I heard this.
