Jurt, I agree with you that the city is in dire straits, could you please elaborate as to why it is Mayor McDainels fault and not the fault of our elected aldermen, are they not the ones who set the budgets and approve the payments and the projects, basically they have more controll over the city and its finances than the mayor or anyone else, even though I voted against the previous mayor I dont think she should take the bulk of the blame either, until they figure out a way to generate more income besides the boat things will not improve much I fear

Billy has followed the previous mayors lead by allowing the elimination of a city engineer and a city planner. He has also kept the same committee chairmen that the previous mayor had as far as the industrial and finance committees. Nothing in these two areas have worked out well for the city. The Mayor has the power to veto any spending . Billy has continually backpatted these nincompoops.

I heard Billy Hillebrand is going to run for Mayor of Metropolis. Truly a man of insight and vision. An intellect with the good of all men at heart. Won't you join me in support of Billy Hillebrand? Together we can make a change!

Our city always had a city engineer. In the previous mayors term the engineer found that the casino had built over a large sewer line. The mayor objected to the engineer giving the blueprints for the hotel to the city council. The city council eliminated the office of city engineer because he was always bringing up something wrong with the work contractors were doing in the city. This is exactly why we need a city engineer. In successful cities there will always be an engineer looking out for the best interests of the taxpayers.
