You all are mostly right, but like any type of alcohol problem or "ANY" drug, give a person a chance or two to follow through with help if offers are available, hopefully by loving family and friends, before giving up and saying horrible things. I do not know these people or anyone with this problem but if they refuse to get off even as a recreational user, you almost have to turn your backs. I had this similiar situation with a family member, if they keep saying tomorrow, tomorrow, well, it isn't gonna happen, they will drain you dry and take your reputation down with them. it's called enabling and I was horrribly guilty of it, thinking tomorrow would eventually come.
If a person does try to stop and you "REALLY" believe they want to even if it takes more extensive options, at least offer, so you can say you did what you could.
I'm am not arguing your point, but, sometimes good people can stop before they turn bad, you know to stealing, and thinking of ways to manipulate you and the other members of family or friends. I tried, so, I have been able to live with myself saying, I did the best I could but had the sense to move on with out going down too.
But hating and harassing and bullying makes you miserable and waste your time, they could care less what you think. Stress and hate can kill a persons soul,(yours). So then you have still let them win when you can't stay away or quit thinking of ways to hurt them, you waste precious time and energy best spent elsewhere. Believe me, they will be hated on and bullied by inmates because eventually running out of councelors and rehabs they will go jail a broken person, when a decent rehab and a friend might have been all it took.
I didn't win but I kept my sanity by letting it go.
