Well with the casino open in Cape the Metropolis boat will not be bringing in as much money so the city wont be getting as much money. The City use to make their money off the electric bills before the boat came to Metropolis well those days may soon be back and the people of Metropolis will have to pay. Now is the time we ask our elected office holders to stop wasting money and start living within their means. we cant afford to waste $14,000 a year for grass for soccer fields and we sure don't need to be buying Hummers to drive all over the place.

Duh, read the paper, it was in the paper 4236 days ago that if you use more electricity due to heating or the extreme heat your electric bill will go up. geeewsh dumbass do you think Metropolis is the only frigging town with a ppa, infact I chalenge you to find someone who supplies power to a town that doesnt have some form of adjustment, infact if you knew anything about how the bussiness world works you would know that there is a ppa for about everything,I work in the shipping industry and if diesel goes up the trucking companies have a chart that shows what the ppa or adjustment to the shipping bills is based on how much gas is per gallon, just so you understand that means if gas is 3.50 a gallon they charge and adjustment fee of on a scale 15. dollars to your shipping bill, if gas is 3.65 a gallon they charge 18 dollars to your bill, this in return raises the cost of your food, clothing, appliances or anything shipped by truck, ups, fed ex or whoever. so ARE YOU GOING TO GO NATIONAL AND ASK THAT IF THEY DONT FIX THAT PPA WE SHOULD VOTE THEM OUT?? you are an uneducated idiot. go read something and learn before you start bitching and throwing out stupid ideas, my vote is to not let uneducated people with atleast a 5th grade education not post on topix

We have been being overcharged with this PPA crap for too long and old Slick Rick and BBQ Billy will find some way to change the PPA thing around just in time for the election MARK MY WORD. I dont care what other citys pay all I care about is what I have to pay and when there is a fuel adjustment that is almost as nmuch as your electric bill there is something wrong.

Maybe the great ones who rule the city will float a bond to buy EEI when USEC shuts down, they might be able to generate electricity be using the hot air they produce to create steam. Of course they would have to shut in down on Sunday to suit their masters. That would call for one BIG battery. It shouldn't be too hard to figure what bunch that are ruining this town is. The great ones are only following orders from the bunch. Paducah and McCracken County are booming because they doing what is best for all the people not the few fat cats who contribute nothing and free load.

The Mayor is supposed to make a statement in this Monday's City Council Meeting during his Mayor's Report about electric rates according to the Council agenda.

Just in time for the election, I bet Carrel will have to make his comments know as well again just in time to get more votes for his re election bid. This just proves that they could change the PPA when they want.

Stop being a friggimng LOSER and be thankfull if it actually goes down.Y ou inbred s.o.b
