You are soooo right "Why". Every time I drive by there I can't help but think how much money has been wasted on those fields. When you go by it looks like a sea of fences and is not appealing, at all! When flood waters hit in the spring, a couple of those fields will have to be totally refurbished.... Would love to know the final tally on the money spent on that area. People would probably call for the head of Bill Carrell.

Wow Bill Carrell it's amazing now that you are up for reelection in 5 months you are pushing to cut the PPA now. Where was that desire two years ago? We have all bled our electric bills all this time. Nice political manuever. Now that our Presidential election is over it's time to focus on who we will vote for in the April city election. Anyone know what political party he is affiliated with? This is important to know.

He had his chance and failed. He was one of the people that stopped any chance our city could develop. After the $300,000 the city spent on consultants to create a development plan...they stated the the city needed Sunday alcohol sales. Carrell was the first to say no way!!! People like him and the others wanting a bedroom community are foolish and do not understand you can't have a Bedroom Community without business to support job growth. They have stopped that with the high prices....due to wasteful spending.

Few in their group has every had to create anything...they want only the $1500 -$2500 per month health care insurance.....and most should be on Medicare like the rest of us...but no they want the poor retires and those on fixed incomes (THE BEDROOM COMMUNITY) to pay for these special deals.

City election are all NON-PARTISAN elections, so even though Bill is a Republican as is Ms. Lambert it really doesn't matter. I have to say that Bill is about as two faced of a back stabber as you can find anywhere. As pointed out in this thread Bill voted to put the PPA on the people of Metropolis back in 2006 and now he is all about changing it, once again that is two faced. I for one hope that Becky beats him and put the old man where he needs to be RETIRED!!!!

Each Aldermen that voted for the PPA should be voted out of office. Now that the PPA has been put on the people it will not be able to taken off. And for bbq Billy and Carrell to be using it now to try to get vote makes me sick, not only will I not vote either of them but I will ask each of my friends and family to vote against them as well.

Candidates file next week for the April election. What has he done for the city that warrants us supporting him with our votes besides being a drag on the insurance with his health issues?

Bill has been an outstanding supporter of athletics and parks in Metro. Because of him we have amazingly beautiful soccer fields! That is the crown of his leading as Alderman, he definitely will get my vote.

I think he needs to step down considering how bad his health is. I think we are going to see City Council turned upside down come April. People just need to get up and out and vote. Let's get rid of the riff raff and get some new people with new vision and insight into those Council seats.

Bill Carrol has been the driving force behind many of the major monuments and projects ERECTED in the city the past 20 years. He must have a penis the size of a paper clip. Seriously though, the library, the new fire station, the ball fields, the new police station - all collosal wastes of tax dollars all were constructed and supported by Bill Carrol. Meanwhile, not a single major manufacturing or other employer besides the casino has been brought into Metropolis in the last 20 years. The leaders of Metropolis, including Bill Carrol, have failed to capitalize on the revenue brought by the casino to develop infrastructure and incentives to attract new businesses and/or jobs and development. FAILED! None of these people need to be re-elected. Remember, if you keep doing the same thing (ie. re-electing the same people again and again), you will get the same results. So, if you want more ball fields, soccer fields, old fire trucks and new buildings to put them in and no businesses, growth, or jobs by all means vote for Bill Carrol. Jobs and growth first, baseball fields and old fire trucks second.
