The lawsuit is indeed still going on. As a matter of fact the city received a letter from The Pony's attorney asking them to drop this and if they did then the attorney fees the city would have to pay would be significantly reduced. Think the city will go for that? Probably not!

Lets not mislead the public, everyone knows that the city doesnt have to pay the legal fees of the pony if they win,so the only one who gains from the city dropping the law suit is the pony PLUS IT IS NOT the city who filed the lawsuit it is THE PONY, so maybe the pony should pony up and drop thier law suit against the city and just obey the laws written like lets see the pony in Memphis has to as of Jan 1 2012 they have to obide by a whole lot of things oh wait didnt they sue Memphis too and oh wait did memphis settle and drop thier suit HELL NO and did the pony win HELL NO

Westlund owns The Pony, Downtown Dolls and The Jet Strip clubs here(Memphis) and has a long history of battles with local authorities.this is a quote from a tn newspaper, I have asked on here several times for the Pony owner or managers to tell us just how much money thier bussiness has brought to the city in form of tax dollars but they cant seem to come up with a dollar amount, when I asked 3 different aldermen they couldnt either, seems that outside of the liquoir license they bought no one can see any form of extra money gererated to this community, the majority of thier customers do not utilize the hotels,and the majority of thier customers seem to be after midnight to early morning hours, most bussinesses in Metropolis arent even open, so no trickle down effect to other merchants,and I would bet thier is no record of how many 25 dollar and 40 dollar lap dances are being preformed or how much they take in holding your beers for you at 1 dollar a pop.I think the state needs to regulate these type of cash bussiness more closely then maybe there might be an advantage to having that type of bussiness around but untill then the ONLY person coming out ahead is the owner

I find this very interesting,and since the city is struggling to meet budget and may have to lay people off, I too am wondering how much money has the pony and its owner generated in the last 15 months for Metropolis, we have an idea of how much the pony has cost the city with its ridiculous law suit,so pleasae someone investigate and find out just how much the city has benefited from this enterprise, oh and please dont start saying crap about the boat we know that even in this down economy it is still generating 5 or 6 million a year,

Well if you want to look at it this way, I have to ask just how much money has Hardees, McDonalds, Sonic, Bill's BBQ, Tailgators, Wily Jaks Just how much have they given to the city, well the answer is about the same as the Pony since the city do not get a part of the tax moneys collected like they do the Boat.

well I can say this,I have never heard of Hardees,McDonalds,Sonic,Bills BBQ,Tailgators,Wily Jaks, ever SUING the city because they didnt want to follow city ordances, so I can say that The Pony is the only establishment listed that has SUED the city and caused more problems and bad publicty then any other bussiness in the history of the city, so you are correct it is like comparing a mutt dog to a limo, in this case THE PONY is the MUTT dog, now please tell me more about how much the pony has benefited Metropolis, with its law suits and negative publicity because they think they are better then every other bussiness in town that has to follow city ordinances
