Great job by the Lowell police. That's a huge amount of dope off the streets. Hope the judge keeps this guy in jail.

If you are going to traffic 20k - 50k in drugs, you should at least have a little common sense to stop at a stop sign and possibly not blow through red lights...

Yes, that could easily happen. And, typically when drugs are stolen from the police it is the police themselves who are stealing the drugs.

Leaving confiscated drugs stored in the evidence room of the local police station is like leaving your picnic basket with the bears at the National Park for safe keeping. It's just too much temptation for some.

Luckily for the cops; there is a very high likelyhood that they can and will get away with stealing drugs from evidence rooms. And, even if they ARE caught, chances are high that little to nothing will happen to them. All we have do do is look right up the street to beautiful Dracut Mass and the $80,000.00 worth of marijuana that suddenly just vanished from the evidence room at the Dracut PD one fine day. The thief or thieves have gotten away scott free; and chances are VERY HIGH that the theives are lawmen.

And, chances are also very high that the drugs were returned to the streets; compliments of the Dracut PD! Our tax dollars hard at work; thanks Dracut PD!

I use to know a couple in mid mass who got busted in the 80s with a similar quantity. They got nailed in a rest area on rte 2, 15 minutes from their house....they stopped in the rest area to have sex...the judge said NO SEX FOR YOU, COME BACK FIVE YEARS lol

It was a dirty cop who ratted him out so that the less dirty cops can catch the dealer. This would provide the dirtiest cop access to the drugs that he couldn't strong arm from the dealer initially.
A cop is a cop and they ALL think they are above the law that they are to enforce. One thing to note, cops arent the only one with guns these days.
