So I can buy "name brand bread" and other grocery items? Wow that is wonderful but you know what they say about things that sound to good to be true. Don't get me wrong,I don't doubt the story and I totally believe it. I totally buy that all of that food is bought with food stamps and wic cards too. It's a ploy as old as the programs themselves people and it is wrong. If you buy this food just know that you are helping the alcohol, tobacco and illegal drug markets.
Don't women get more monetary gain from having more children through these programs? Beautiful. More fat pockets for doper scum and empty bellies for innocent children.
Quit acting like you don't know why you're getting such a good deal while helping people when you know you are doing such a dispicable act.

If you want to check out some really cool flea markets check out fox plaza or the swap meet on Alameda. The one in Canuto can be a good quick stop too.

Are these swaps in Las Cruces or El Paso? A flea market/swap closer in Las Cruces would be nice.

Sigh. Looks like my comment from this morning was flushed.

Thanks for the article, Ashley. I LOVE the flea market - I'm there at least once a month. Yes, there's a lot of junk, but equally as many treasures. I've found some fantastic deals there and even when I find nothing I have fun looking. Where else can ya go and come home with a pair of hand weights, a stack of stupid 80s movies for 50 cents apiece, old records, a tool belt, a big bag of tortillas, and a shovel, and a box full of fruits & veggies...and only spend 20 bucks?

This is a yard sale junkie's dream come true.

I hit Big Daddy's almost every week. If the bread people are using their food stamps to buy the loaves, they must be using a LOT of food stamps, cause sometimes they have hundreds of loaves of various breads, etc.
I buy old cowboy boots and antique junk. There is usually some of both at the flea market.
I know the Alameda mkt in El Paso...where is the fox thing???

The one in El Paso - is this the one I've seen as I approach EP, in the Canutillo area? It looks massive and I've had to quell my urge to stop every time I'm passing through.

As the article stated, I have much more fun at the flea market on Sundays rather than Saturdays. With the Catholic presence I would think it's the opposite...if you want the best pickins, go on Sunday.

There is one on Doniphan in Canutillo, but there's also one off Alameda in a defunct drive in that's pretty good.

I went to Big Daddy and found Barton Fink for fifty cents.
