I would rather see a letter grade of A to F for each senator and congressman based on what they have actually accomplished while they get rich off of the salaries and perks they vote for themselves. Only those who receive an A or B would be eligible for reelection. Those with a D or F cannot run again and must pay back all of the salary and benefits they have gotten. We need to "grade" the graders first!

Kind of ironic that the paper carries a story about education and how schools must be held accoutable when the editor of the Daily Times constantly makes obvious errors. Take a look at the title of this article.

What does "remail" mean.

Unions are the biggest problems with education,
they could care less about the kids, its all about
them. and Senators like Cynthia Nava, who happens
to be a educator and been in the Senator for years,
there is no record she has worked to improve education she is all BS.

The old saying "Those who can't, teach", really has some meaning. Most teachers now days seem to be in the job for the benefits and the time off. Having been around the schools for sometime I find a large number of teachers have no life skills, no common sense, are slobs, and look forward to summer vacation more than the kids. So tell me why they shouldn't be graded and salary increases tied to performance, just like the real world.

In response to "Walkin Dude" Isn't there a restraining order keeping you from "being around" schools?

NY is trying to do away with "last hired, first fired" for teachers. They know they gotta cut back & hate the idea of keeping dead wood. They want a system based on performance but don't know if they can get it past the union.
I wish them great success for the sake of Our Nation.

I am curious...In which job or profession in the real world does one person's pay depend on how others perform? I hope not the one you are in because whoever your boss is obviously wouldn't get paid much. You sir or madam are an idiot!
