Is everyone current with their rent? If not, then do not complain how quickly your landlord makes repairs.

Regardless if they are behind in their rent it is the landlord's obligation to provide the necessities without fail. That is the law--look it up. Unless there is an eviction order on a front door this kind of statement is without merit. And you are a mean, clueless, dumb@$$.

In Cruces they don't have to fix anything but can evict you regardless.

I'd say it's a too-large swath if ANY neighborhoods are still without water after this long!

H2O will Rise ! Remember to thank Al Gore, and his Global Warming Friends like President Obama ! We have the US/military go to Haiti, Pakastin, and around the world, yet New Mexico gets only the excuses from the Elected Liars in Office ! America under Obama, knows how to spread your wealth ! Next the good citizens of New Mexico will be going down to the Rio Grande River with buckets, just like MEXICO ! What's wrong with Washington ? Answers: Senators, & A Congress that continues to not listen, or watch out for the Legal Citizens of New Mexico and USA. How Do you Like The Change ?? BHO will blame this Tragedy, and the Cold on GWB !! Well you still have HOPE ??

Perhaps Governer Martinez and the legislators from Santa Fe need to also have El Paso Electric company pay for the water pipes that have broken in the southern part of the state. They are the company who first started the problem with the gas and electric and helped to cause the water problems there. They seem to be only worried about New Mexico Gas Company and heat problems. Which is very bad with this winter weather but Las Cruces, Ruidoso and many communities in the south don't have water and now one is running there to help them out.

A few streets over, a small stream of water has been coming out of a broken fire hydrant since late last week. I called in a report to the water department, and was told "We'll repair it as soon as we can." Five-plus days later, and it's still not fixed...

If the leaks in the supply system aren't being fixed, I doubt the water department can restore water to customers.

I had no problem with the Moongate water! The city want's to take Moongate over,it make's me furious. I had a frozen pipe, that thawed out, nicely. But water every other place. Give it up City,we do well out here on Moongate water, and why sue a company and take it away from all of us!!!

OK...here's the deal...

Exposed water pipes freeze when it gets REAL cold.
It was on the internet. Big news everywhere.

Here's your head's-up....

Winter (the cold months) WILL happen AGAIN next year. It might get cold here again. Got it?

If you like not being able to flush your toilets,
don't insulate (wrap) your exposed water and drain pipes again. The water WILL freeze again and again.

After a week, your bucket runneth over, eh?

Sheesh!

Nobody's blaming Mother Nature?! Seriously, some things are inevitable and no amount of finger pointing and petty squabbling will keep the Gods from sending cold weather! Wrap your pipes, or move, but whatever you choose, quit your whining!

I'm gonna take the low road here:

Frozen water pipes in cold = Al Gore is lying about global warming.

*If you know it's gonna be cold, wrap any exposed pipes you can get to. Realizing that nothing is perfect, if there is cold weather like that again, I bet you wrap your pipes. Even THAT isn't a sure thing. I wrapped mine and it still froze and burst.

You are not sure of anything. Those several trailer parks there have been there for forty-plus years and this year they made the big front page news.

We sure get tired of people who continue to make the same mistakes and blame the absolutely predictable results on someone else. It was freezing cold for EVERYONE.

The elderly, crazy, crippled, and weak MIGHT get a pass on this one. Just because one has less money OR free resources, doesn't relieve them of the laws of predictable and advertised physics. People have been successfully wrapping their pipes with as little as newspaper for decades to overcome a simple but staggering problem.

That's all I got.
