Vatican Bank mired in laundering scandal
The allegations led police to seize $30 million in Vatican assets in September. Anyone surprised! I'm not.

WHY DOESN'T AL-QAEDA FOCUS ON THE VATICAN. The world would be such a better place.

This has nothing to do with the article, but religious intolerance and bigots are always looking for any opportunity to attack people's beliefs that they don't agree with.

No wonder the Vatican is so powerful. People like you continue to contribute to the Catholic cult.
Personally I don't agree with kissing someone's ring and bowing to mortals. The freaks you worship should be begging forgiveness to everyone for the pain they've caused. The church would be something to laugh about if it wasn't for their criminal ways. Catholics must be a weak group to think these bastards (priests, bishops, etc.) here and in the Vatican are holy.

A name change would probably get more support.
Good candidates:
1...Lady of Tortugas
2...Lady of Guacamole
3...Lady of Guajolotes
4...Lady of Los Ciegos

Leave the "Virgen" part out... nobody believes that..LOL!
Amazing what some "bright" folks will worship!

Such twittiness is incredible. "Unknown" needs to remain unknown, and stop degrading other cultures. I am an atheist and admire the devotion people show in events like this, despite my personal philosophical beliefs. Just stop!

I appreciate your comment. The others are just hatemongers who don't have a proper upbringing. Why dig into the Virgin Mary's feast? It is obvious that they are unhappy folks.

As one who lives in southern New Mexico, I certainly appreciate the attention given to Our Lady on this day. It is a shame, however, that those who claim devotion to her are so "cold" when it comes to protecting Our Lady's children. She is, after all, the patroness of the unborn, as she appears pregnant to St. Juan Diego. Give true honor to Our Lady of Guadalupe and do something in your life to help protect unborn children!

I think some people are very creative in their hate. I'll pray for you under the patronage of the Holy Mother of God, Our Lady of Guadalupe. Since today is Saint Lucy, I'll pray for you under her patronage for light.

If they said the "virgen of North Pole who birthed Santa" she'd be a lot more popular. Amazing how religion can go from walking around in sandals to preach the word of Gob to having people attend a service, at a church that resembles a palace, and give money to hear the word of Gob. Next time you're in a church look around and ask "hmmm, did my contributions in a poor box buy that 24 karat diamond that new, hip jesus statue is sporting on his ear?"

WOW! Lets talk about your mother! How would you like for someone to call your mother names? The problem with idiots who attack Catholic beliefs is that they acknowledge the Virgin Mary, yet they offend her any chance they get. What has your religion done for humaniity? Dont condemn the religion itself, the problems in ALL religions is the people making the decisions. Quit being an idiot! Clean up your house first.

The problem is not that people believe, it is that nuts like you feel they have to trash other peoples beliefs. If you don't beleive then don't but do not assume that you have the power to keep others from beleiving. May god have mercy on your soul.

Educate yourself before you post such rubble. Better to be thought a fool than to open one's mouth and confirm it.

God's Word says not to idolize..what is happening here is just that. God is the only one who deserves the worship and adoration...no one else. These poor, poor, lost souls. There is only one mediator..Jesus Christ...He is the only one that can talk to the Father on our behalf..why is that? Cause Jesus is Alive...everyone one else is dead....no one has resurrected..but Jesus..What Power He beholds.

Typical IGNORANT Catholic buffoon-speak!
Where in the Scriptures is there ANY mention of 'Lupe or ANY other virgin other than Mary(and No mention that anyone is supposed to worship her either) that is supposed to be holy?
Where, where?
Sadly, Catholics have always been and continue to be the most Scripturally-ignorant folks on the face of this
planet.
And talk about what Catholicism has done for humanity: the Inquisition, war-mongering Popes throughout history, money-laundering by the Vatican....the list is TOO long for this forum!
Yes, your "church", more than any other in the history of mankind, is riddled with scandal, corruption, sexual abuse of children, etc, etc, etc, and you blindly follow your beloved "Pope" and his pervert cronies right into a hole if that's what they command you to do.
This Tortuga pilgrimage is just another folly-trek(like others in many parts of the "Catholic" empire) to keep all you blind sheep happy in your ignorant ways. Your religion has NOTHING substantial or pure to offer, so your leaders throw these "feel-good faith demonstrations" to make you believe everything is holy-moley ... just don't forget to give your weekly $$$$ dues(to pay for legal expenses to defend perverts and crooks disguised in funny robes).
So sad that many sincere people continue to be scammed, defrauded and hoodwinked by these filthy, perverted agents of wickedness you call "fathers".
Yeah, you have lots to be proud of pride with all this filth!
Shame on you for being an adult... and still STUPID!

Another STUPID, ignoramus!
Believe me, that I don't have to lose any sleep when it comes to these matters...
You and your FILTHY "fathers" are the ones who are in dire need of some enlightenment.
Yeah... you believe all the shenanigans you feel happy with.
After all, that's the Catholic way, right?
This Catholic "stuff" would be really funny...if it weren't so pathetic.... just like you.

Well good for you My goodness sake! Believe what you will and let other believe as they wish. There is truth in all religions but if it makes you feel better to single out yours as the truest of all religions, then by all means go ahead. From my persepctive I have always thought that those that feel that they must cast stones at others is because they themselves are trying to convince themselves that they are the true believers when in reality we all are.
