This place really needs one!
I hate having to drive all the way to El Paso!

You will get all kinds of opposition on this. Better to send the money to El Paso. The city council will say yes on the redlight camera scam, but no on a redlight district that can actually make them money. People act like sex doesn't exist if it is sent out of state.

I remember when there was a place just east of town. There were dancers and had a pretty good thing going. But some women got jealous and not getting any at home, would stake the place out and take pictures of the men coming out of the place. Then these dumb broads would put the pictures up at Albertsons, so these guys wives would know they were going there. Really sucked, place got closed down by the City on some trumped up charges.

Please give it a rest City Council - now
we hear from the Council what a socially
conservative place Las Cruces is - when they
have done everything they can to manipulate
the city policies.

Silva is the head clown in charge! What happened
to all that Progressive Liberal c-r-ap you toss
out all the time on this one POS!

This town is so screwed up. The council has too many rules against making money here. Go to El Paso and you have businesses everywhere and people working. Here we like to throw up roadblocks so that everyone is sure to stay on welfare and unemployment.

A titty bar in a town of nearly 100,000 will generate good tax revenue, create a few jobs and keep the money that is going to El Paso weekly in Las Cruces.

Yeah, wasn't the place up on highway 70 called the Lamplighter or something like that. It was the white building up on the left as you go up the hill.

Yup, these dumb broads were taking pictures of people going in and out and posting them in public. Too bad those guys weren't smart enough to get a lawyer. They could have sued the panties off of those highly conservative ladies that were taking the pix and posting them in public without written consent from the people who were photographed. It's like everything else, I can't simply walk around Wal-Mart and take pictures of ladies asses without some kind of trouble.

If those guys are still out there, check it out with a lawyer. I'd guess that you could sue for "pain and suffering".

In case this goofy ass council approves this, keep in mind guys that no one is allowed to take pictures of you in public unless you allow them to.

Las Cruces city council, pull your heads out of your asses. The money is going to El Paso for this and many other things. Kids are going to El Paso to party 'cause Las Cruces is so conservative. You are losing out on tax money and endangering these kids by allowing them to drive all that way. Get 'em drunk here and get 'em taxi rides.

Las Cruces loses out to El Paso on a lot of things: restaurants, factories, warehouses, stores, etc. For anyone reading this poop, it's time to fire these city council drones that are holding Las Cruces back.

@Bre, don't be a hater. Maybe it would generate a few jobs in town, tax dollars aren't bad to get so that the cops can set up more roadblocks and DUI checkpoints. Maybe they could use the tax dollars to put up a better fight against the drugs in town. Better yet there might even be job opening for you if your good looking.

Sure, there will be jobs for others besides "dancers", but they'll be earning their pay off the nude backs of those "dancers". So, if you want your wife, girlfriend, mom, sister or daughter to work there and show their bodies to a bunch of drunk (and probably married) men for a few bucks, then have 'em apply. Families that love, care and respect all women need not apply.

Hmmm ... This is so funny, the women who fear other women taking their drunk husbands. Relax, no one goes to these things for anything else but to get away from home and their naggy wives. Open up 10 of em in las cruces.

Unless there's a specific posting AGAINST photography in a public place (like at concerts, theaters, galleries, etc.), private photography for non-commercial private purposes is perfectly legal, even if people are in the photo.

It's the main reason why surveillance and red light cameras are in place.

I'm sure that a lawyer can figure out a way to make it illegal in a court.

Find it kind of funny that these ladies would take the time to do this.

Open up the titty joint, this dead town needs some kind of entertainment.

Collect taxes, creates jobs and provide entertainment all at one time.

More people have died for religion than for titty bars. That being the case, we need to shut all these churches down. They apparently breed violence and death.

How stupid is this argument? We are one of the poorest places in the country. Yet we are opposed to a strip club, which would provide jobs and keep money in town, not to mention cut down on drunk driving back from El Paso. If you don't like strip clubs, don't work there or don't visit one.

You nailed it right on the head. Didn't notice when I first read the post. You are correct. It is perfectly legal for you to take photos of public places as long as it is for private use. In the case of the titty bar that used to be up on 70, the pictures were being taken of the patrons and being posted in public. This does not constitute private use.

If you'd like to test your theory out, go to Wal-Mart and start taking pictures of people and then post them at a restaurant with accusations. I would bet a dollar to a penny that one of those people could easily sue you for defamation of character and invasion of privacy along with a slew of other things. If it was fair game to simply photo people in public, you could make a magazine called Peeps and take pictures of people and post them giving the magazines away for free and make money on advertisements without commercializing the photos.

Bottom line is that if people don't like titty bars, they don't have to attend. If a woman doesn't want her husband boyfriend girlfriend to go into a Tbar, then they simply have to convince them not to. Unfortunately, in the USA, nobody owns anyone else, at least not legally.

Long live the US of A.

Like Nancy said "just say no". This little town can live with it or without it, it really does not matter. If you need to start moralizing there are plenty of better targets, gangs, prison mentality, welfare cheats, drugs, the list goes on and on.

Bedford, MA

Open up the titty bar and keep ytour kids, your husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends, sisters, moms here in las cruces as well as all the money generated.

This is a piss poor town that could benefit from the jobs and God only knows we could use the tax money to pay for some of these cops as there's probably 1 cop to every 3 people here.

This is such a funny topic when it comes to morality cause in las cruces, the moral values are in the toilet. People here can buy their way out of anything to include killing someone.

Create jobs, get people off of welfare, collect taxes, reduce the size of government, let the free market dictate what will happen to this business. If they are successful, it's a great money genrator for the city. If it doesn't do good, it can be added to the long list of failed businesses in las cruces, and the list is very long.

Some people have a need to go hide their sins in a building that they call a church, others in buildings thay call Tbars.

To the people opening this club, call this a church and you will have no problem opening up. Have the sisters wear nunn gowns and you will be fine. What happens in the church then does not matter.

I think you could legally call this a church and get away with it. Afterall, what's the difference between a church and a Tbar? You go into both to leave your money. They both tell you what you want to hear and you leave with peace of mind from both. Ready for the beating you will take the next time you go. Hahahah
