Its sad but Karma has finally caught up with Lorenzo's de Mesilla and the fact he had illegals working at his restaurant is even worse. Hmmmm wonder if that had something to do with his so called abrupt closure??? Well not sad to see this place go its been said time and time again "what goes around comes around" bye bye!!!!

My wife and I and our relatives feel it is/was the best restaurant in town. We always had a good time and excellent food at Lorenzos. I never saw anyone in there that seemed like an illegal.

Have to say hopefully Mary won't hire a certain pair of individuals from the Mesilla location over to the Pan Am Lorenzos. I think she has enough sense to know that this pair is lets say "not really on the up and up".

How is it that a fine establishment treated their employees so horribly. I heard of all the stories time and time again of how Lorenzo's wife mistreated and cheated their employee(s). I feel horrible for Lorenzo himself, seemed as though he was a good and kind hearted man and entrusted his awful wife to look after the business. I personally met the woman once and she was snobby and rude. I hope this woman didn't run his place to the ground. This woman walked around with her head held up high and treated the staff like crap. Like to see that woman now see if she still walks around with her nose in the air, probably not she's moving on to the next big thing.....Sorry to see this place go loved their food.

Sorry folks hat you lost what you feel was a good place.

So, may I ask your advice your other go-to places for good, or rather great mexican food in Las Cruces?

I'm been to a fee places there, My Btother's Place, which their food was probably better than any mexican fare in Alamogordo.

I thought Nellies Cafe was pretty good, not a fancy place, small, and it gets crowded, but I thought the food was quite edible, staff, and owner was friendly, like family ther.

There's a couple others I've tried, but the names elude me at the moment.

Some here in town I know have said La Posta isn't like it was years ago, and I know of Chopes, but never went there. Maybe one day.

So, can you give some suggestions folks? I'm not caring about fancy so much, just good hearty food mostly. Thanks!

Try Los Compas on Bataan Memorial. They are really good.
