Oh yeah...no PLACE for chile in Italian food...except for spicy Italian sausage with red pepper, roasted red peppers on or in almost anything, Sausage and green/red peppers, the classic Naples Puttanesca sauce, and my favorite: Arrabiata (angry) sauce, made spicy with lots of crushed hot red chiles. There are more examples, but I think you get the point.<quoted text>
I guess that means that Caliche's should close their doors. Seriously, Italian food is not Mexican food and adding Green Chile to Lasagne ruins it. Would you want wasabi in your burrito?
One of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Mexico City does Lasagna Azteca, with corn, roasted green chile inside and red chile sauce, toasted pinons, etc. A wonderful fusion-style dish.
Better stick with the Chef Boy-R-Dee, Bob. But of course I'm a heretic...I've been known to put cheese on my hamburger ;)
