"Now Republicans are criticizing Obama for being in Europe on a diplomatic mission instead of tornado ally."

Your comment simply reflects the latest example of the power the Reich-wing propaganda machine has.

In this case, Brent Bozell's (MRC) propaganda house got it into the echo chamber and hate radio and Fux did their job and spewed it forth for their brainwashed minions to regurgitate.

"(Editor’s note: According to the White House Web site, President and Mrs. Obama will take part in an arrival ceremony at Buckingham Palace Tuesday at 7:20 a.m. Washington time. They will then have lunch with Her Majesty the Queen. At the same time, the morning news shows in the U.S. will continue their live coverage of the devastation in Joplin, Mo., WHICH COULD MAKE FOR JARRING SIDE-BY-SIDE IMAGES OF ROYAL POMP IN LONDON AND DREADFUL CIRCUMSTANCE IN JOPLIN.)" Obama is a joke. How pathetic that our nation has faced a crisis in Joplin and he waits for days to even go there. Bush was excoriated for his lackadaisical response time to Katrine and the press crushed him...the media today worships Obama. It is pathetic. I am glad this zoo animal is going to be a one term president.

Not only lackadaisical, give ash!t attitude but the total incompetence of his administration. Great racist comment by a rec-neck cracker and teabagger.

I usually find presidential visits to disaster areas for photo-ops to be major distractions to the local efforts on the ground, but there are definite differences between Dubya’s response to Katrina and Obama’s response to the tornadoes and floods.

The floods were days in the making and the agencies involved were competently doing their job in preparation and response.

The tornadoes were virtually instantaneous, but the response teams acted competently and with dispatch. And while the death toll from all the tornadoes scattered over ½ dozen states and thousands of miles and damn near a month is tragic, they are a fraction of the death toll from Katrina…as is the number displaced.

The country is hardly on the throes of disaster. Katrina was days in the making and yet the response was horribly incompetent.

Hours after his fly over Dubya gave his first speech about the disaster. The NY Times critiqued it:“Nothing about the president’s demeanor…— which seemed casual to the point of carelessness — suggested that he understood the depth of the current crisis.” His staff felt he was so out of touch with Katrina the enxt day they made a damn DVD for him to watch!

The next day, a FULL WEEK after the fiasco began; Dubya is on the ground for the photo-op, praising Brownie, and using disaster personnel and rescue equipment as props! Senior Bush officials LIED about the state and local response and Dubya tried to shift the blame to the local officials and flat out LIED when he claimed:“I don’t think anybody anticipated the breach of the levees.”

It must be remembered that Dubya took more vacation that any president in modern day history. And during the first days of Katrina was cutting birthday cake with Old Man McCain, going to a baseball game with Rummy, playing guitar with some red-neck guitar picker and on a PR trip to sell the mega-BILLION $$$ give away to big-pharma.

Not that it will make a damn to those who refuse to remember the incompetent response to Katrina, or the racist bastards like "The Great One" check out the timeline: http://thinkprogre ss.org/katrina-tim eline/v

all over again! Oh where, oh where, did this same C&P job show up before? Not a total repeat though due to some new and different errors.

"I usually find presidential visits to disaster areas for photo-ops to be major distractions to the local efforts on the ground"

Well, Obama should check with you on the next disaster to make sure his actions are in agreement with your view.

"The Sun-News seems to be the one confused by the curbside recycling bills. In spite of their excuses, people are still paying $5.62 plus tax to pay for recycling. This is more than double the $2.59 originally billed or charged."

1. Does $5.62 instead of $2.69 sound like "Tip Fees"?
2. Was recycling made "Mandatory" by our city leadership?
3. Is having the Recycler as a member of New Mexico's Recycling organization distracting?

http://www.recyclenewmexico.com/pdf/2009_Acco...

4. After reading the above document, should the Attorney General be investigating the City of Las Cruces "Mandatory" recycling program with "Tip Fees"?

I think John McCain has developed Alzhiemers, he stated publically that Sarah Palin could win the Republican nomination and beat Obama in 2012. As much as I want Obama to get beat, I don't think Palin is the one to do it.

"My wife and I worked for years to get Medicare and we don't want the Republicans busting it up and us having to go into the private sector to buy insurance."

It won't be Republicans, it will be do-nothing Democrats who are relying on China and other countries to continue buying our debt into infinity.

I would rather have a competitive environment, where multiple companies are competing for my health insurance business, and I have the choice of moving to another company if I'm not happy with my current provider.

Being forced to have health insurance provided by a bureaucratic monopoly that cannot be sued and has the power to ration whenever they see fit is not an attractive option to me.

An excelent point about remembering Clinton in comparison to Judge Murphy. Years of Republican waste , disruption and partizan flapping resulting in no criminal finding what so ever.

The Chinese stopped buying US debt months ago. They've been slowly unloading what they have and buying/stockpiling commodities.

As for healthcare, I too would like a competitive environment. Reality is, that will never happen-the Pharma/healthcare oligopoly will stop it.

Slightly off track, I'm going to therapy thanks to some rich elitists on topix trying to paint me a stalker of Sarah Palin and we used to be friends, but no longer. She never said a word and the therapist said that's normal behavior of rich folks. So most of our sessions turn out to be discussions of political nature because I used to be a writer and I'm still well respected where I live on Kolob. Everyone on Kolob knows that Sarah knows me and she's lost credibility. It's truly sad. But that's the rich. They think with their wallet for short term gains, but don't recognize that they are being used for strategic reasons. If you were to get a world map out, you would see that many of the countries we are helping have seaports or are valuable for oil exportation. In fact, my therapist and I agree that everything in our bad economy has been manufactured to intentionally change our society. Look it up. They are actually using VIetnam style tactics on the American people to force them into compliance through poverty and a cold war of attrition. The moderately rich here boo hoo about how they're paying for all social programs and complain about the illegal immigrants that about a decade or two ago, they were also exploiting. Army Intelligence told me that I'm right. The CIA likes my ideas. Since Sarah turned her back on me, I have no problem helping the richest of Americans and it will make the United States into a developing nation, but veterans will be taken care of ... at least for now. They don't want us for an enemy too. The world will be a safer place. My therapist disagrees that the UN small arms disarmament treaty will help. He says it will start even more wars, but I disagree because I believe they will create new opportunities so that armed civilians in violent countries will gladly hand over their weapons for the American dream promised to them. I'm wrong? Then ask yourself why they gave Obama the Nobel Prize for Peace. I think this has been planned all along to give money to companies "too big to fail" not because they were broke, but to enable them to outsource jobs even more for global domination with a carrot on a stick. My therapist does not like Islam becoming the de facto government approved religion since Sharia Law is being shoved down our throats (U.S. Government v Oklahoma citing international law to force that state to accept Sharia Law in their court system) and sucking up to Islam will only result in your grandchildren to have to pray five times a day in 40 years from now. But what else can be done? There are some 7 billion people on this planet. Islam is the logical choice to control a population out of control. Sarah ... instead of backing me up, she fed me to her buddies at Foxnews and they tried very hard to destroy my good reputation. I suspect that Sarah sold herself to Islam as well to gain that pretty image surrounding herself with perfect entertainment people so when she's gone, people will say, "Golly, what a nice person she was." Yet, the winners write history. Islam will probably burn her entire life history when they take over because she's reputed to be a witch. She's fatwa. Even Christian preachers in the Ozarks say that she's trying to buy her way into heaven. Our entire civilization is nothing but a shell game and we're the losers. My shrink told me the shell game analogy.

Your BUTT boy Clinton was and should've been impeached but not for the worthless, spineless republicans in office at the time. That white trash lied under oath. So...keep your birkinstocks on ...Richardson is crapping in his pants if he hasn't already. Rumor was in S.F he did it all the time anyway.

Most people who disbelieve that our man-made CO2 emissions are adding to the warming of the planet ARE most certainly FAILED MECHANICS. I know that I would be upset if I couldn't LEARN, ADAPT, CHANGE. Their huge, unnecessary, street legal, penile compensators must be sending their credit cards into 5 digit debt. Surely, I tell you, it can't be any fault of their own...

"I am surprised to hear that our city and state police officers and Sheriffs Department are being used for drug intervention out on the highways. Come on, there are plenty of Border Patrol officers that are getting paid to do that."----When was the last time you saw a BP agent pull anyone over? BP only does drug interdiction at the check points. They are busy enough with tracking down illegals and not deporting them.
