Why is there a pedestrian speed zone on Idaho, just off Main? I have lived in Las Cruces for better than 40 years, I have traveled that area hundreds of times and all those times I have never seen a single ...

Your kid is young and does not know any better. Wait until they have to deal with re-paving of a road not even a 1-mile section taking 5 weeks. Great idea to repave one of the busiest roads during the busiest times of the year. Makes you wonder if anyone in this town has any education at all.

I just wanted to say a THANK YOU!! to the people in the area who put up xmas lights. And I send a hug to the family's on Jornada & Egyptian for the shows. Please people, when you go and view these great lightshows, please be consciencious of the neighbors in the area, and the other people who are trying to view the shows. stopping in the roadway with your headlights on is just plain rude to everyone else.

With the dismal direction our basketball program is heading, it’s a shame that NMSU demanded us to involuntary donate thousands of dollars in addition to the purchase price of season tickets. As season ticket fans, I’m not alone in the feeling that somehow we’ve been victims of a scam. Mr. Boston should do the right thing and provide us with either a refund or perhaps charter buses for us go and see a rising UTEP basketball program.

Regarding getting your license renewed. I was there the other day right when they opened and was out in 15 minutes. Not hours and hours.

How many days in a row are they going to re-print the same sound-offs?

Jupiter and Saturn accreted gas directly from the protosolar nebula after accumulating solid cores of about 5-15 Earth masses, but our math models have been unable to produce the smaller giants Uranus and Neptune at their present locations, because in that region the small planetary bodies for collisions will have been more widely spaced, and everything is less tightly bound gravitationally to the Sun.
But in addition to the solid cores of Jupiter and Saturn, 2 or 3 other bodies are likely to have formed --according to the best models. Such cores will have been gravitationally scattered outwards as the younger and now bigger Jupiter and Saturn masses continued to accrete nebular gas. Gravitational interactions with the small bodies in the outer disk of the protosolar nebula and all the other resonances with Jupiter and Saturn then gradually swung Uranus and Neptune into wider and wider orbits.
It's difficult to explain in any other sequence.

It is too bad that the Wolf-Hybrid owner was not given the option to adopt-out her dog. I have owned a Wolf-hybrid. They are very loyal and loving. Mine never bit a single person. He was sweet & loving, and would rather shy away from a stranger, than bite. I think this was a personal grudge against the dog or owner. The description did not match. I have(had) met said Hybrid at the farmers market. He was gentle & friendly. Shame on DAC Animal control. There are always "options".

Thank you ever so much for the lucid and educational commentary.

The Tea Partiers are against the excesses of the Federal Government. The Occupy Wall Street people are against the excesses of Wall Street. Guess what? Both groups are right. People, the only way to fix our country is to vote out incumbants, both Republican and Democrat, who have been in office longer than one term and start over!

Here in Las Cruces things are very different. My medical condition has improved and am now able to get a drivers license. The only problem is that there is a month and a half wait to take a road test! There is something very wrong with that!
