The old courthouse is a beautiful building and I am hopeful it will be preserved. Too much of Las Cruces' past has been demolished in the interest of progress, and that is a shame.

Add to that the fact that the old Pat Garrett home sat in a state of disrepair for so many years that it had to be demolished several years back. What a terrible waste and shame for such a huge part of the history here in the Southwest.

What will happen to the building now? This may sound like an uninformed question but I have forgotten or never really knew what is going to take place at the building ... Thanks!

Why not use this great old Courthouse as a living History Museum for Donna Anna County, and Southwest New Mexico. Maybe Homeland Security can use the building for holding Illegal Mexicans ! Their are many Illegals that can be rounded up ! Then deport the Illegals back to Mexico or have President Obama take care of them with his own money ! The legal American is tired of paying for all illegals. Now Do Thew Right Thing, Round Up All Illegals, and Deport Them, before they destroy this Great Republic ! Never Forget The ALAMO or 911.
Same old Al. You start off with a plausible statement that was on topic and you just couldnt help but go off on your illegal diatribe. So much hate and so little time.

Well, thanks to our forward thinking Mayor and City Council, the "ol girl" will feel right at home with the city's new low income housing project,(which no one else wanted), going in directly across the street.

This building is an architectural treasure. Glad to see someone is renovating it instead of letting it go to ruin!
