Why do my brethren and i descend on this mountain town?
To ski. To eat. To shop. To lodge.
We come here and spend all kinds of money.
you should roll out the red carpet.
This yown is clannish and sinister.
Who is going yo pay my radiology bills?
I slipped.
on ice.
Why arent your businesses mandated to keep their sidewalks shovelled?
From here on out, im going to flagstaff.
Cleaner. Safer. Less discrimination.

Sorry lady, cannot afford salt for sidewalks. We gave all our money (GRT) to a local millionaire because he told us he would save our jobs and make us all rich like he is. While we have no solution for paying your medical bills, we would highly encourage you to visit our race track in the Downs and enjoy the small of real horse crap before you leave us. Yes, the facility is closed most of the year but just drive back to the stables, as they are always open to the public. This is what we can offer to out of town visitors such as yourself. Thank you.

Thank you for coming to Ruidoso and spending so much money. We appreciate it. However be sure to pay Lincoln County Medical Center what you owe or we will come after you for non payment. This will impact your credit rating, which will make you even more mad at Ruidoso.

If you spend all kinds of money maybe you should spend some of your shopping money on some shoes with tread. It snows here, although no that much at times. Bert will sell you nice pair.

But if you can't afford decent shoes, I assume you can't afford health insurance. That's okay obama will take care of you.

As for less discrimination, you obviously have never been to Arizona.

I have been advised to file suit.

Get the chip off your shoulder and really read what this poster is saying-Ruidoso is "supposed" to be a tourist town,...... where Ruidoso residents/merchantscollect 90% of the money that flows in here ie. THEY MAKE THEIR LIVING FROM THE TOURISTS. Tourists who are invited to this town ASSUME a level of safety and care exists. That includes enough pride in your property, or the property in front of your business, to take care of it and make it easier for the tourist to shop and the leave the town with a feeling that they are wanted and will come back. I have watched people slip and slide in front of Kawlidgas, in fact, I have seen the crotchety old fart that owns it, slip and slide all to the way to the mailbox!!
Here is a merchant that gives Ruiidoso a black eye. He could pay a kid $20 to shovel for him if he can't do it himself. So, the tourist spends so much time trying to stay upright in front of his store, that they don't have the time or inclination to go into his store to shop-so what comes first, the chicken or the egg?
And you think someone should have to buy shoes with cleats on them just to spend money in this po-dunk little town???? Mr. OLD COCK, you have been here too long!

Then you will need to rent a home here and wait your turn in line. There are many people that have filed suit against the village and they are waiting patiently to be heard by the legal system.

I can apprecaite your concern and we all know that we have problems with ice in midtown. However, you will not find nice curbs and speed bumps (disguised to look like the rest of the road)like ours in Flagstaff or perhaps anywhere in the world for that matter so you need to take the good with the bad.

You all are about too much government interference but all of a sudden you want government to do something? Why don't you all trot on down to the old fart and tell him what you think ? If you notice, 95% of the other merchants either shovel or hire it done-they understand the importance of it. If the old fart doesn't seem interested, might be time for a little picketing of the business?? Those guys with signs on the street corners seem to get attention???

Dear Fractured Ankle: So sorry to hear of your mishap. But, the sidewalks are public property and the responsibility of the Village to maintain. It is nice that most of our businesses on the "shady" side of the highway do clean the area in front of their businesses. Not that the Village needs more law suits, but maybe you should consider seeking reimbursement for your medical expenses from them. Have a safe trip home. PP

The state owns the sidewalks not the Village. The state is the ones that recently spent all the money on the handicap ramps that do not good because the sidewalks are in such poor condition.

Some of the businesses on the shaded side of the street are just too lazy to shovel the sidewalks when we have snow. If they are shoveled, then you don't have so much ice developing. These are the same businesses that complain business is down because they don't know how to be friendly to their potential customers.
