Geronimo and Bin Laden

I am glad that Bin Laden is dead buy I was offended by the military code naming him Geronimo. I am glad to hear that Native Americans across the country have taken offense to this but what is being done? An apology would be nice but I don't think that it is enough.

Maybe this is the perfect opportunity to ask for a Presidential Pardon for Geronimo. Geronimo was not captured. He had made an agreement with the Army and turned himself in. The agreement was not honored and Geronimo died an old man at Ft. Sill, OK as a prisoner of war.

It is also rumored that Preston Bush looted his grave and stole his head and now this.

Geronimo might not have been a Mescalero but he was an Apache and in the olden days Apaches banded together in times of need.

So please band together and show solidarity for Geronimo and demand some respect for him and a Presidential Pardon.

suck it up. geronimo was the operational code name, an honor. bin laden's code name was "jackpot". besides, back in the day, if there were such a word as terrorist, geronimo, the us calvary, the mexican's, and who ever was murdering each other could have all been labelled as terrorist. the code name chosen at random, is appropriate and an honor. like the blackhawk, apache, chinook, etc. all military & veterans should be proud and honored for their courageous, unselfish service to keep all americans- latinos, african americans, all legal ethnic nationalities free to do what they dream. the claim to be a decendant of geronimo is ridiculous, particularly when you aren't. his family is in ft. sill. moreover, he was not a chief, he was a medicine man who had families wherever he went, mexico, arizona, nm, ok, etc. lot of children, grandchildren, and great great grandchildren. it's unfortunate that a so called grandson was so belligerent, unprofessional, and disrespectful for saying that he wished that "the son of a bitch bastard who called osuma bin laden- geronimo rot in hell". a quote to koatv 7, not becoming the representation of the mescalero apache tribe. a disgrace to native americans who served and paid the ultimate sacrifice.

I don't have to suck up anything I don't feel like. I am a veteran and I am proud of what the Seals did but not at Gernomino's expense.

I might have a drop or two of Apache blood. I am mostly Hispanic but I'll tell you this: If you are an Apache then this Mexican thinks you are a poor excuse of an Apache. I know Geronimo hated Mexicans but there are some Mexicans who obviously have more respect for him than some of his supposed people. In a way it's good that Geronimo is dead so he doesn't have to see what some of his people have become. Who knows maybe people like you make him roll over in his grave.
