Planning board approves land annexation....seriously? No place but Capitan would a board approve something like this with no real platt, no real covenants or zoning in place, no master plan in place, etc. Even one of the board saying it was vague and he didn't really know what's going on?...come on...so why was it approved again? Unanimously? Wow....just wow...

One more reason why the good people of Capitan are more than wearied by the current town leaders. It could take years to repair damage from leadership like this.

I once lived about nineteen miles from a slaughter house and sometimes the wind brought that horrific odor to my doorstep.

We heard that mine was still happening, is that really true? Doubt that is gonna have people going there to buy pricey land if so. And a slaughterhouse? Oh, my...

Its actually for a beef and chicken slaughterhouse on one plat . On the other will be the ore processing plant for the strip mine going in. This will be a great boom for Capitan.
I guess I would rather have a new slaughter house or an ore processing plant in Ruidoso rather than one more damn dollar store. Capitan, we in Ruidoso feel your pain. I guess misery does love company.

You don't have a clue what pain is felt there. You seem to be comparing apples to oranges. And both being tourist town, slaughter houses and mines would not be beneficial.

Too much loss, selfishness,, ineptness, too much egotism, arrogance, oppression,....all that can and will bring down a community's spirit faster than a few dollar stores, right folks?

Ever heard of sarcasim? The blogger was trying to make a point that as a "tourist town" as you boldly call it, building nothing but dollar stores in Ruidoso during the last several years has not done this city any favors...clueless. The council has no vision of what Ruidoso should become. But we will fight back, fight back, fight back!!!

Please share that on one of the ruidoso forums. Give Capitan people a chance to share on this site. They deserve a chance to speak out here, as their opinions are somewhat 'stifled' in that town.

Thank you.

Looking forward to the slaughter house and mine operations along with the Capitan Trading Post by Conquest investment which will give the community a wonderful economic boost. Capitans lazy bums has been sliding into the same welfare state as Carrizozo.
You seem to have an inside track to ALL the going-ons in Capitan. So you can't be part of the slaughter house plan, the mining plan or the conquest group....you must therefore be part of the village hall who knows all and sees all and wants all kept quiet.......well, you get the point.

Please, enlighten us poor citizens who are always the last to know....

"But some Water Board members remained dubious on the order of operations, with James Taylor repeatedly requesting a final plat and more information to know what was going on before approving anything, sticking to his guns and voting no at the final roll call."

Duh, ya " think" there should be more information? And yet it was still approved? What a crock.
