Dear, Dear Marty,

I found out yesterday what had happened, I still can't believe it, and I keep praying that I will wake up from this horrible nightmare. You are, always have been, and always will be, someone who I considered to be a very close and personal friend. I will keep you in my heart forever, I will always remember your face, your smile, and most important, I will always love you.

Marty,
I am having such a very difficult time with all of this. I really don't want to accept the fact that your gone. What happened? I keep asking myself. What Marty?
Schedules and priorities shift, you tend to become busy in other endevors and Many times I thought of you and that I would come and catch up. I am so very sorry I didn't. You have left me with many fond memories that I will hold to my dear to my heart.
One day someone died.
And on that clear, cold morning
family members and friends were struck with
the pain of learning that sometimes
there isn't any more, from someone.
No more smiles or laughter,
no more hand on the shoulder in encouragement,
no more lucky moments to celebrate together,
no more phone calls just to chat,
no more helping hands.
Sometimes, what we care about the most goes away,
never to return, before we can say good-bye,
before we can say how much we care, or "I love you".
So while we have it, it's best we love it ..
and care for it and fix it when it's broken
and take good care of it when it's sick.
This is true for marriage .... as well as friendships ..
and children with bad report cards,
and dogs with bad hips,
and aging parents and grandparents.
We keep them close because they are worth it,
because we cherish them!
Some things we keep --
like a best friend who moved away
or a classmate we grew up with.
There are just some things that
make us happy, no matter what.
Life is important,
and so are the people we know.
And so, we keep them close!
Thank you very much for
being a very special part of my life!
I will always love and miss you Marty...

Gerard,
I hope you get this. You were such a good friend to Marty. You and all at "Kenoza Place". Those day's were long ago, but still come to mind. My heart is broken, never again to beat the same. There is such a hole, but this hole is also full of love and pride for the man my son became. All his friends and loved ones were a peice of who he was and that piece will always be a part of you and who you are. Marty thought often of you and also found himself busy. I would ask him about you and he did keep track of you from others. Thank you
