Cops: Road closure rage in Merrick

A Merrick woman enraged to find a road closed for a fundraising run was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment Sunday after nearly driving her Lexus into a police officer, Nassau police said.

I bet this women also makes turns without using her directionals, ignores "no standing" signs when it is too inconvenient to find a legal parking spot, and thinks obeying 30 MPH speed limits is optional on single lane roads. She pretty much thinks she is immune (because of who she is) to basic rules of the road.

Hey BIAS! You and I agree on something! Yes, I have seen it often. A road is closed, but the driver insists on going that way. They will even try to sneak around the police directing traffic. Like they don't see them. I love how they say "I have to go that way" even after being told they can't. Oh, and the accidents they almost cause by not moving thinking the cop directing traffic will some how change his mind. Classic. I'm glad they caught her and an example should be made, but I can already see the holes for a good lawyer to exploit if the story is how it went down. Oh, I believe she did it and the officer came close to being seriously hurt, but don't hold your breath for a conviction. The best will be a b.s. PLEA.

We had a problem like this once, where we had to close the road for some other event and some woman (forgot what car she was driving) was pretty defiant. I think she took out a couple of signs before she was finally stopped.
