Crooks!
BTW all you people who immediately jump all over a guys color when the crimes are in neighborhoods like Uniondale, Hempstead etc., never talk about all of the corruption at the town and county levels (not to mention the huge # of national) that are almost exclusively white males?
Maybe there are more whites in those positions but then there are more blacks in those neighborhoods mentioned above.
So if it is statistics then your racial slurs arent warranted. If it isnt then you need to start slurring against white males...yeah that might never happen.

Nassau County's District Attorney Kathleen Rice
is to be lauded for her investigation and subsquent
arrests regarding the scandels of the North Hempstead
Buildings Department.
The TNH's buildings department has been corrupt
for many many years under various administrations.
Bribes, politcial payoffs, and lack of code enforcement
was always the order of the day, while Town, county
and previous District Attorney's on the county and
town level looked the other way.
Unfortunately, for many town residents, the lack of
code enforcement had a negetive effect on the quality
of life and dire consequences for the enviroment.
Hopefully, D.A. Rice's positive efforts to root out
corruption in the TNH will force the town and county
officials to enforce laws they never ment to do when
they took the oath of office..........
How long do you think it will take for this indicment to be dismissed?

It all stems from the top down. It's a good old boys club throughout the town of North Hempstead, these building inspectors have been taking bribes and helping corrupt contractors for years. Maybe if Kaiman got out of his million dollar house and walked around his departments and listened to the complaints of people in the town these arrests would have come years ago. Ask anyone who has dealt with the town of north hempsteads building department and they can tell you just how corrupt it is, if you want something done you better have some cold hard cash ready to grease the inspectors. Make an example out of these fools, they took advantage of the town, now let the jail system take advantage of them!

"The discovery of a single falsified certificate of use triggered the sweeping corruption probe by the Nassau district attorney into North Hempstead's building department. Since then, the district attorney's probe has broadened to include possible links between campaign contributions to town elected officials and favors to developers..."

So, does this mean that there are more arrests to come? What about the elected officials? There is an old saying, "The fish stinks from the head" The head in this case is Supervisor Jonathan Kaiman.. While DA Rice is to be congratulated for bringing these arrests before election day, she better not be holding back on the elected officials including Kaiman's buddy, councilman Tom Dwyer, the guy who didn't report over $100 thousand in campaign contributions. Also Kaiman himself got over $60 thousand from the contractors. Were these guys who were arrested putting the squeeze on the contractors to give to Dwyer and Kaiman?

Kaiman is as dirty as they come and if he had a R next to his name he would be excoriated daily by NEWSDAY, like the crookhaven folks.

Kaiman is filthy dirty and he was the only one to benefit from all of this.

not fair to lump all of the employees into this mess. If it wasn't for them most of this would never have come to light...

Once again why would this surprise anyone? They are in every municipality department island wide! last week it was Westbury Water...next weeek its going to be someone else. Is it really worth it to cheat, lie, steal and rip us off! These cry-babies that work in these positions always make the excuse that they should be able to bend the rules a little bit...so they can get by! Well everyone lets drive past their homes and see the big $$$$ lifestyle they are living or were living!

Want to impress me? Find a local gov't office that DOESN'T do this type of thing. Once they get elected or appointed, they all turn into crooks.

How come Newsday can produce not just names.... but pictures of the accused. Oh, that's right, they're white guys. Apparently that's within 'policy'.

Hey stupid why dont you take your race baiting antics elsewhere. If you were not so BLIND you might have noticed the 20 posts befoe you slamming these guys and others as crooks (as well as other things). Nobody cares about you or your cause...
Nobody here owned a slave or has ever been one
GET OVER IT!
You didnt own a slave so every thing is OK. Great angle!
My point was no one EVER cries WHITE CRIMINAL on these posts. Just BLACK CRIMINAL. You prove my point because none of those previous posts mentioned race.
Wanna bet how many would have mentioned the race had they been 4 black guys?

I'm delighted to see corruption punished. Once you've lived on the Island for a few years you feel it's impossible for anything to correct "THE SYSTEM". Hopefully, the contractors who offered and paid the bribes will also go to jail.
Once this angle is stopped please start on the politicans - taxes are not this high in an honest society.
