I agree!!! At least Cliver has a law enforcement background unlike Jimmy Pirtle. All kidding aside, why would you want a person as sheriff who doesn't know anything about police work or ever worked in that field? I understand it is an elected office, but those with actual experience should be elected. That would be like drawing a name out of a hat for mayor. Oh, wait.....anyway, vote for experience!!!!

Hey Jerk,what experience did Martindale have,he was a washing machine salesman at Sears,or the Watermans?Jimmy Pirtle would have been the best sheriff Sullivan county had if all the people who act like they are so much hadn't switched political sides.So its okay that Jerry Cliver kills a person and tried to kill another person and only spent 20 years in prison,just because he had some law enforcement you think he would make a better sheriff than this Pirtle boy.Well you are a moron!!!!!!That is what is wrong with this town,too many people like you live here.So leave this Pirtle boy alone,he don't bother anyone and hey jerk the election is over!

I have got to agree with this one. The other people on the list are bottom feeders we need someone who is not afraid to be on top. Speak their own mind and not be a puppet. Plus I think Digger would make a great matron.

What makes you an authority on who the bottom feeders are and who isn't? I am sick and tired of reading these forums and one or two people saying the same things. And before someone gets on and tells me to quit reading the forum, I would like to think that sometimes I might read an interesting post without somebody bashing the same people or the same family over and over. If you have so many great ideas about how to get Sullivan back to the way it used to be then get out and do something about it instead of complaining on here about it or the people who do try to do something. You say "a coffee shop(another place for people to sit around and talk and do nothing)". Isn't that kind of what you are doing on here?
And there is nothing wrong with grown men being called Jimmy. I know several good men who go by that name (the one you are talking about included). We even had a President of the United States with that name. I think attacking someone for what name people call him is really getting petty!
So please get out and sign up for a committee or run for one of the offices you are referring to and see if you can get something done. I guarantee that if you do get involved, you will be the next one someone is bashing on this forum!

Jimmy Carter didnt seem to have a problem being called Jimmy and neither did a few others. You have way too much time on your hands.

Grow up ......Needs to WAKE UP....If you would notice...most small towns are just like Sullivan...the downtowns are dying because of Walmarts, Targets, larger towns to the north, south, east and west,etc. If you really know whats wrong and know how to fix it than get off your lazy duff and join committees, attend meetings and be active in your community. Oh and there is nothing wrong with being called Jimmy, Bobby, etc., as a grown up. Oh but your not grown up so we will just call you difficult!
