Well, lets see who would financially benefit from not building a fence? The Mexican drug transporters and illegals. So Mexico has the most to gain. So, who would be paid to keep the fence down? The mayor and the city council. The same ones who are giving free water to the colonian and Mexico. And perhaps even the same person/persons who are holding up the ASARCO jobs!!!

As someone said, "Mexicans didn't jump the border, the border jumped the Mexicans." Grow up people, America is made up of ALL races,not just white and brown. Unless you are decendants of the Native Americans, who are the ones who truly were here first, then we are all immigrants. Fence or not, we will always have immigrants - ALWAYS, so deal with it.
No one is taking any jobs away from anyone else. Anyone can apply for the same job, but we as Americans are so spoiled we believe we are "Owed" what we want. We need to grow up.

The Border Patrol Chief is ABSOLUTELY right. We need the fences, walls, barriers, whatever they want to call it. As the Chief said, "Their is NO legitimate trade or people coming thru the areas outside the Ports of Entry". That DOES mean that the walls, fences, barriers are there to stop, hinder, prevent ILLEGAL activities. That includes TONS of ILLEGAL drugs, marijuana, Cocaine and Heroin. It includes contraband, such as smuggled weapons, military equipment and BILLIONS in drug money. It also includes ILLEGAL people. Thats people who have NO documents, rights or reasons to be in OUR country without OUR permission. That means Mexicans, Terrorists and the low-life drug dealers. Anybody (Worrried Mom) not understand this?? People who are LEGAL in our country have every right, benefit and privelege. They have gone thru the process of tons of paperwork and waiting in long lines to get to "the American Dream". But "Worried Mom", we the American People DO NOT OWE the 10-20 MILLION illegal Mexicans ANYTHING. Our government FORCES the taxpayer to provide for them. The Mexican Government simply pushes it's citizens over the border so that WE have to provide for them, because the Cartels that run Mexico will not. The Immigration Agents need to increase work-place raids and make some kind of dent in this 10-20 million illegals that WE have to support. Jobs??? Well if the Home Builders in El Paso paid MORE than the legal wage, they would have more than enough people applying for jobs. As it is, they truck in illegal workers from Mexico, pay them $2 bucks an hour and give them cold beer on friday nights. I promise that an experienced carpenter or licensed plumber does not work for $2 bucks an hour. So you see, it's all about corporate greed, to have the cheapest product they can make and get the MOST money for it. El Paso is a "sanctuary City". The Mayor and City Council have made it that way

most of the stuff in this forum is bullshit. Except for maybe gunslings.. all the mexicans are here to stay because they managed to have one of their little wetback babies here which according to our constitution gives them a right to stay so they could reap the benifits thanks to their daddyless kids. And then they stay on this side having more kids all from 8 or 9 different dads, and then the kids keep going by getting their own public houseing and government assistance and so on and so on. its pittiful. Stop giving shit away and youll see them leave one by one back to where t hey came from.

When the new demarcation line was established in 1848 mexican peoples suddenly found themselves outside their original bounders and under a new government. Thus the border "jumped" them. Whatever the financial agreement was is immaterial. The USA expanded to its present mainland geography. I have trouble with the description of "invaders" a term coined by Reagan much to the delight of the right wingers. "Invaders" draws an imagery of militarism. Germany "invaded" Poland. Soften the language and call it what it really: migration, illegal or not. And if America wants to shut down the entire length of the border let it be. Just remember the adage: every action has an opposite reaction....and its not revenge. An action is like boomarang...positive or negative.
