I just wanted to note on this that I knew Anthony personally. I wasn't his best friend. We didn't hang out all the time. I went to the same school as him for over seven years. I hung out with his younger sister. I knew his youngest sister. I went to their house a few times. I know his mom, gradma, aunts and cousins by name and face. The last time I hung out with him was three years before he was shot.

We all know alot of people in Pemberton aren't innocent, however, it doesn't excuse people getting shot down in the street. It doesn't change the effect of Anthonys death on his mother or his family...which is nothing other than real.

As for the fake "bloods" and "crypts" in the area-please step back and look at the bigger picture. Gangs target young adults in any area they can- they can give them money, they can give them protection, they can give them friends, etc. Its the same anywhere you go. I grew up in Pemberton. I still live in Pemberton. I know and know of plenty of people in this town that get caught up in being "hard" and the image that Pemberton portrays accross Burlington County. I've worn a blue bandana to the mall and been approached by someone and asked to take their colors off because I was disrespecting them. I've been asked if a red one was my "flag"...I've sat at a persons house who was supposely a blood and heard him talk about Albie's death and the trouble that was going to unfold because of it. And you know what.. he was right.

When people say their from Pemberton, they get the same reaction as people saying their from Willingboro or even Burlington City = BAD NEWS. Not all of the town is like that- parts of it are well respected citizens. For you to sit and say its Sunbury and its fake is false. This is real. Anthony getting shot is real. The arrests, convictions, drug deals, and deaths are real. They happened and regardless of how much you believe them to be valid- they are. None of those things turned out to be make believe or pretend. Real families have suffered loss of family members to gang related deaths and arrests. Real young adults who showed promise in high school have fallen short to their potential.

As for what Anthony was doing in Sunbury we may never know. According to reports he was visiting family- which could very much be the case. There are good people who live in Sunbury who may not be able to afford to live else where. There are also people who deal in drugs and violence that live in the small innocent area of "Pemberton Boro" or Browns Mills. Its all over not one area.

Please just remember that.

PEMBORO see's things from a different prospective there's no need for disrespect. I dont agree with everything he said, but my son which is a young black male who is 17 knows all the words to 50 Cents music but can barley write a 3 page term paper or essay. I think it's a darn shame that another life has been lost due to "gang" violence. I hate the fact that the stereotype said to my husband in I one day that the poeple in Pemberton are nothing but savages (given by an officer) has once again shown true.

I have lived in Pemberton Township my whole life (not Pemberton, I must clarify that because I personally don't want to be associated with Pemberton at all because of the stupid violence that's running rampid out there)... I feel bad for the people that have to live in Sunbury Village due to financial issues, but personally, I think it needs to be treated like the Gardens and that whole area needs to be bulldozed down! It's a little city within a city, and it's gone to hell because of many of the people they have living in there!

I do volunteer work and I try to educate these kids that the choices they make now will affect their lives forever and that just because there is not a damnnnn thing to do in this town doesn't mean you have to lead a life of crime...hellll there was nothing back when I was growing up and I turned out just fine...Life is what you make of it people!

Really people y'all need to wake up....no pemeberton wasn't always bad and neither were these people and I know for a fact because one of them is my brother and I grow up around the rest. But you have to understand and think about what people been through and were they have been that made them change and become the people they are today. They didn't just wake up and decide these pathes...yes it maybe the suburbs out there and yes everthing you hear is real as it is anywhere else. It may not be real to people that are from the city but its not always about where your from or where you live because when things get real that's where people move to the suburbs and then things change...but everyone will always have their opinion...but just put yourself in other peoples shoes and think about why people do things. No there is never a good reason but it was good enough to them at those times..
